Slowly, the magic faded out for the last time. Sunset sat slumped on her knees, staring through blurry eyes as the glow dissipated in the darkness. It was over. The portal was gone. Equestria and the human world were safe…and forever separated from one another.

Twilight is preparing for her first date with Sunset, and she really doesn't want her friends to know about it. Of course, they find out anyway and distract her from her preparations. But then, finally, it's time for the date to begin...

Upon realizing the upcoming summer break will be the last one the Equestria Girls will have as high schoolers, they decide to throw a huge party at the end of the break to celebrate it. The plans quickly escalate, and quite soon the girls decide that their party will be a three day festival. But to throw such a massive party, many preparations will have to be made. And it would probably be fun if Princess Twilight could come over as well, and maybe even her friends.

Sunset and Twilight have nothing to do on a rainy Saturday, so Sunset invites Twilight to come over to the human world to hang out. There really isn't anything else to say, plot-wise.

After suffering from a recurring nightmare, Sunset Shimmer decides to go back to Equestria. There, she discovers that Twilight has been having similar dreams and that a mysterious dark force is at work in Equestria. Sunset, Twilight, and her friends are sent on a mission with the goal of bringing harmony to Equestria once and for all.
