After the Grand Galloping Gala, when everypony is gathered in the donut shop, Princess Celestia feels the need to apologize for Blueblood's behavior towards Rarity. As she does so, she finds herself getting into a much more in depth account of how she really feels about her nephew.

Diamond Tiara says some things that go beyond her usual insults to Sweetie Belle which cause her to get extremely upset. Later that day, she cannot hold back her feelings and receives some unexpected condolences from her older sister, Rarity.

After a long day of work for Twilight, she and Fluttershy spend some time together as they watch the sunset. However, what was originally intended to be a casual few moments together turns into something more as a few simple words spark some pensive thoughts in the young alicorn. What are these thoughts, and what is the lesson that she can learn from them as well as from her friend?

Celestia woke up late and is feeling pessimistic about her day. A couple meetings later, she decides that this has been the shortest bad day in the history of her rule. Pinkie Pie has had enough. She cannot keep hiding her darker side anymore. So, one night, she writes down some of her darker side's views on what life and death are as well as how happiness and sadness can play a role. How much more was there to Pinkie than anypony had ever realized?

Twilight Sparkle is dying and Celestia is near a shell of her former self. Her biggest regret is having been unable to say goodbye, so she asked that Luna deliver a message for her. When Luna tries to do so, she finds something much different than what either sister could have ever imagined.
