I love that moment when I'm writing, and suddenly one of the characters does something that I wasn't planning, catching me by surprise. Oh, Sweetie Belle, you are such a joy to write!

So I keep track of just about all the Sweetie Belle fics that come out. And just yesterday I came across this story:

I don't see why so many people hate the dentist. The only reason I dislike them is that I don't have a dental plan, so every time I go it's about 200-400 dollars I'm losing out on. It's kind of fun for me. I have a half-frozen face which feels really cool and is fun to poke at. Even with the drilling, the experience was kind of relaxing. Makes me wonder how each of the CMC would react to a trip to the dentist...

Wow, it's been a year (and 2 days) since I published the first chapter of Scion of Chaos. I remember it all started as a modest attempt to get myself back into writing after reading a fair number of fanfics (Sweetie Chronicles and Antipodes in particular) and it served to reignite that spark of a dream I had five years ago. Now it's been over a year, and I am pleased to still be writing and looking forward to every chapter.

This is not going to be your usual read. It's a sad story and dark. Bittersweet too (I love my bittersweet). It's repetitive for its 1000 words. But it provides a great example of how effective repetition can be.
