It's criminal that this has such comparably low views compared to the original; the prose has been amazing thus far, then you throw in more good action descriptions, agh!

It's unsurprising, and I'm not super concerned about it. It's a lot easier for people to immediately pick up and read a story that's marked Complete, is only 7k or so, and is a straight forward clop instead of a longfic with branching plotlines. I wrote this one for me, because I wanted to write Flowing and Star some more. (And because Tempest needs far more fanfic love)

It’s always great to see the seapony make the pony shine. But that Cirrus and Tempest scene at the end absolutely blindsided me. Really fantastic stuff. Would love to read a whole fic about that alone, but you can feel the years of development in that one scene, and it is totally tight-knit and clean. I love how it blends into the overall narrative: it definitely elevates this fic to a whole new level.

Another really great chapter. the interaction between Tempest and Cirrus really plays off lots of of screen build-up and it was really good to see.

One thing bought me out a bit though when they mentioned the speed of the little dinghy. Fifteen knots seems crazy fast for a tiny boat. It's the average speed a Windjammer would make. But I haven't actually done any dinghy sailing myself, although I'd like to if I can get the time.

Aw, I love the little slice of life moments for both parties.

Agreed; there's something magical about creating your own works of art in that it scratches that itch you have for it, perfectly.

Like a musician who makes their own music the way they like it, and listen to it on their own free time because it's what they wanted to hear.

Glad to hear you have such a good relationship with your work <3 I'm sooooo enjoying this story so far; I actually found myself rooting for tempest during the fight scene even though she poses a real hazard to our favorite fish-horse combo platter. I can't wait to see where else it ends up going; there's a lot of great character development here and I appreciate the demeanor cirrus has, in that he's very clearly empathetic and caring underneath his sarcastic and joking exterior; he knows when things are serious and when he needs to be sensitive about things. Very well written!!
