The photo responsible for the death of the universe

You are an archeologist. Humans have recently found out how to not only travel fast distances, but travel in time and through dimensions. Your current assignment is universe IJWK*4494, a small class 4 dimension that was ended by a supermassive blackhole. You rewind time, only to find that this blackhole did not exist even a second before the end- it practically grew from nothing. Pinpointing the source to a purple class m planet, you begin to wander around. The beings here seem to be unaware of any danger, and are absolutely adorable. Walking around a bit more, you come across a pile of thankfully dead, ugly beasts with a photograph next to them.
You reach out a shaking hand, picking it up. With a rising sense of dread and anxiety, you flip the photograph over.
