Ooof, oh dear, Aria ya done effed up. Should have listened to her, should have just focused on her and not let that jealousy take ya... oof. She's got a lot to do to make up for it.
Still, solid chapter chill! Glad to see this come back, it was worth the wait!
11793215 It wasn't supposed to take this long. There were several different chapters that got shelved because I wasn't happy with them before we got to this one.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?! You think you can just go around assaulting people you don’t like?” Sunset’s voice was naturally loud, and her angry shouts carried even stronger through the club. It wasn’t long before heads were turning to see the commotion, and Aria began to fear she may have made a mistake. “I tried to be nice! I tried to be friendly and cordial—which you don’t even fucking deserve after what you did to me, by the way—and what do I get for it? I get burned just like always! Whenever things don’t go Aria’s way, you just have to find a way to make it someone else’s problem, huh? Jesus, I am so fucking finished with you, you fucking psycho!”
Calling a pot a kettle black, you hypocrite.
And accusing Aria as a "psycho", then what makes you then, hmmm!?
“Yeah, Shimmer, quit while you’re behind,” said Valerie with a venomous glare. “Your drunk ass is going out through the back door. Boys, make sure she gets out safe.”
11793225 Honestly, I'm curious what the other drafts were like, because this one didn't land for me. Everyone was in character, but everything moved so fast the emotional impact sort of flew past me.
The ideal solution to people like Sunset is to just leave and ignore them, but both Adagio and Sunset herself were stopping Aria from doing that. What was Aria supposed to do, just stand there and let Sunset keep escalating her verbal abuse?
11793535 Not different drafts, different ideas altogether. Things like meeting Aria's parents or deciding on who tops that night. Those things might come back up at a later date, but for now, this felt like the right direction to go.
Adagio was directly telling Aria to ignore Sunset, so that they could hurry up and leave. Aria was supposed to be the bigger person and ignore the drunk asshole that was heckling her. She was supposed to let Adagio guide them through because, as they've all established and agreed upon by now, Aria doesn't think well where Sunset is concerned. She was supposed to take comfort in her relationship with someone who genuinely loves her, instead of throwing it spitefully in the face of her toxic ex.
Aria mistook petty spite for confidence, and did everything wrong to show how over Sunset she was, when she's clearly still not.

Hopefully the next wait isn't quite so long

Better late than never, I always say. ^^
Holy cow, I had forgotten about this one!
So... yeah, really well-written. Aria... off, you messed up big here. Still... that slap was more than deserved. :p
Aria's got a lot of issues to work out. Here's hoping she's woman enough to actually face them down instead of run away.
Sunset deserve it though, in my opinion.

Should have done it the first time.

Ok, I didn't really pick up on that. I guess maybe I read too fast.
I really do love how the relationships in this are presented. Definitely adding this to my favorites!
Great work <3
Damn, what a way to make a comeback. Really excited to see this continue
