Never before did I relate more to Shining Armor than in this story.
Three years ago, I was at my own mothers' hospital bed, not knowing if she would make it because of a serious case of the flu. She even had a breathing tube in her just like Twilight Velvet did; my mom just wasn't in a coma, and I didn't sing a song.

Not sure how I feel about the flowery language but I guess that's your style. I feel this story reads best as an original fiction rather than with pony characters, including the song. Nice story in any case.
