Whoo boy. This is getting intense.
I almost fear to hear how Pinkie Pie is faring in her imprisonment alone. Does the fact Celestia sent her back get her any protection?

What's this about Fluttershy now?
10051956
Sorry, Pinkie Pie. Not Fluttershy.
I was thinking that in the earlier chapter Pinkie Pie was sent back to Prison at Celestias direct command. I was curious if that granted her any type of protection. Cant very well demand Twilights service if some guard cuts her throat or beats her to death. Celestias threat during the training session brings that to light because if she dies it kills Twilights willingness
>siding with luna
My disgust is immeasurable

I will admit, this is not the response I had expected

This is the Empress' exact command. The implication is that Pinkie should not be harmed, and, of course, she cannot be chosen for the games again. Part of protocol is to ensure the relative safety of all Golden Oak prisoners; if the Empress wanted them dead, she would have had them killed.
But, yes, Twilight's willingness to obey is dictated based on the assumed agreement that Pinkie would remain safe

That is what I was thinking. But from the description of the prison conditions were worse than poor and the less said about the guards casual treatment of the prisoners or even the near starvation conditions makes me wonder if Pinkie's lot improved any after her return.

Perhaps you'll find out soon
Interesting that Celestia would see the guard who interrogated the captives executed, even if his interrogation was against the standing order to kill the rebels on sight. They learned potentially valuable information and to see Celestia punish this very mild disobedience speaks, to me, how shaken she was at Luna's defiance. As if Celestia lost confidence in the power of her words, and had to make a show of control and dominance.
Or maybe she's a creature that simply enjoys killing, but there's clearly more depth to Celestia than just wanton death for cheap amusement.
Oh, yeah, absolutely. That's fucking rich.
And so Twilight makes her choice.
Well shit got real Intresting real fast. Why do I think that pinkie is gonna be Twilights downfall?
