With Germany suffering defeat of The Great War; the whole nation is suddenly ripped off the face of the world and thrown into a new one. How will Equis react to a huge, industrial, Empire. Will Germany seek peace, or will they start another war?
"Ja, I get it, we've been fighting for four years in the trenches and we have to live with the fact that we still lost, despite how hard we fought", he patted me on the back and reached down into his tunic and pulled out a photo. He brought his arm as to where we could both get a good view. In black and white was his soon-to-be bride. I remembered, he proposed to her before we shipped out.
It's fairly uncommen to survive in the trenches for the hole 4 years but not impossible.
Not bad, but keep in mind most Germans were mad about the armistice and treaty not just cause they lost, but because all the newspapers and such were govt. controlled, so everyone was reallyshocked, and felt betrayed, when the high command surrendered, thinking (wrongly), that if they hadn't been "stabbed in the back," and just kept on fighting, they could've won. It was this resentment, combined with Germany's extreme economic woes, (and, of course, a healthy dose of anti-semitism), that Hitler played to for most of the 1930s.
TL;DR they should be waaay more upset (like, really pissed off) about the armistice.
9097041 This occurred during World War 1 since World War 2 lasted around 6 years and they said that they had been fighting for 4 years which is about how long World War 1 lasted.
The treaty was so bad that it if In correct some guy said (I think Woodrow Wilson) said that if this treaty was to be placed in effect that it would cause another war with Germany in 20 years due to the disturbance in the country. He was right when Hitler gained power.

You can't pay for reperations if you aren't there to pay them
Hm, this seems like quite a interesting prologue, I do have to say it has my attention, and seems good so far. Hopefully it retains this momentum. Overall good stuff, although some creative liberties could have been taken with the the protagonist's name lol.
This is going to be good!

Your chances of reaching that door in time is on par with the chances of getting inside Fort D in Verdun.
