Yay quotes from the codex
Uh oh.... wonder what exactly happened that Twi would send a letter saying "Help"....
Codex Astartes supports this action. Thank you for this chapter as always, till next time.
7321200 The full answer is somewhat complicated and spoilery, and out heroes don't fully understand all the reasons yet, but here what the Blood Angels themselves understand at this point:
a) Renato discovered someone stamped an Imperial Aquila on the pones' souls, which got Alessandro to sit down for the first talk.
b) Once the Wrath of Angels blew up, they had no choice but to ally with the locals, since Chaos is a greater threat than equine xenos that can't even pierce ceramite. And there is precedent for Astartes-xenos alliances (see Dante and the Necrons, or check out the 7th ed rulebook).
Does that sound reasonable?
And if this is about Durante and Shining Armor, well, Durante's something of a Bunny Ears Lawyer, to use TV Tropes terminology. He's very good at fighting, more than enough to be Sanguinary Guard, but not terribly serious.
I saw flash sentrys name and was like

Summoning reinforcements? Well I think Sanguinary Guard and a Librarian would warrant the nearest planet sending some regiments and a Battlefleet at the least. I mean no planetary governor that has even the slightest hint of a brain WOULDNT want to get an IOU from the BLOOD ANGELS
7437243 The only reinforcements they're getting are locals, sad to say. They're five years Warp-travel beyond the edge of the Astronomicon's light, with no Navigators, Astropaths, or Warp-capable ships left. They only even made it this far by closely dogging the first Chaos ship.
EDIT: sorry, I mixed up my numbers. The Blood Angels are two years beyond the edge of the Astronomicon.
Radar has picked up a helicopter going soi soi soi.

Unless the Lamenters somehow appear (good chance), or even The Legion of the Damned (very low chance) appeared
Charlie Chaplin in his speech from The Great Dictator.
'Tis a good speech, still rings true even more than 80 years later.
