5023317 I like where this is going, gives me the Chobits vibe. I only have one small gripe, your MC feels a tad bit dry, least emotionally. I wouldn't mind hearing some more internal monologues as to flesh out his personality. His relationship, though new, with Babs also felt just as dry. Needs a tad bit more seasoning and it'll be perfect.
It is a very good story, i think i take it into my favourites.
I hope you take your time with the story, it looks like you could make much random chaoters with the story. I mean i would like if you just make very much chapters, the story looks like she don´t have to end after 30 Chapters or anything. I don´t know how i think about it after a while, but you have convinced me.
Surprisingly, I saw a lot of these helpmates everywhere; It seemed as if they ranged from classic cartoonish characters like Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and even a Sandy the Squirrel and then there was the ones that seemed to be modeled after video games like the Anthro pandas from that one really old game, World of Warcraft.
Helpmates being so common strikes me as really strange. First, aren't they supposed to be very expensive? And second, if they're so common, why isn't there more legal regulation surrounding them? And third, I'm not sure that they would actually be all that appealing to a lot of people.
5052418 That actually raises a good point seeing as how it also raises the question of character that aren't really characters but creatures like a Chao from the Sonic series and a Wookie from Star Wars if they cost less. Also the fact that if they are so popular, wouldn't characters be scarce since everybody wants the most popular and well known ones like Goku and Tails and the like?
I might be able to shed a little light on this. While there are several help mates it's still very much a niche thing. Most of the ones that are seen everyday are produced by either Fantastic Dreams or Vivid Nightmares. Both companies create various help mates from movies, literature, cartoons, and even creepypasta. There are unfortunately no human or human like helpmates created since legistation was passed saying that all human type helpmates were indeed entitled to basic human rights and thus the company producing them, 'Real Dolls', was charged with human trafficing. However, Vivid Nightmares and Fantastic Dreams found a loop hole in the fact that the law only covered human type. Using the wording of the law they got around it offering alien and anthropomorphic versions of cartoon, literature, and video game animals.
These companies have been fighting to keep this from going back to court and thus sinking them. That said, yes, the helpmates are expensive, but for many it's a status thing.
