I Just Saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom... · 5:15am Jun 22nd, 2018

...And I am speechless...

Where to even begin. All I can say that, those people who said that this will be the closest the franchise will get to being a full-blown horror film, were pretty right on the money, with all those claustrophobic sequences with the dinosaurs.

A few scenes were genuinely heart-breaking, terrifying, & comedic, I won't tell you what those scenes are, and I'll avoid telling any spoilers...

...save for this...

Review: Perfect Blue (1997) · 7:58pm Oct 10th, 2015

Satoshi Kon's debut feature is a surreal, disturbing and utterly fascinating study of psychological breakdown and catharsis coupled with a biting commentary on the exploitive nature of the television industry, and our own preoccupation with the imagery and nature of fame.

Review: Russian Ark (2002) · 2:48am Feb 21st, 2016

Russian director Alexander Sokurov's spellbinding 93 minute meditation on more then 300 years of Russian history is an elegiac, elegant ode to a world long since lost to the forces of time, made all the more dreamlike and poetic by the fact that it is a single, uninterrupted tracking shot through the massive and labyrinthian world of Saint Petersburg's Hermitage Museum, otherwise known as the Winter Palace.

Review: Mulholland Drive (2001) · 9:49pm Aug 25th, 2015

Mulholland Drive stands as yet another fascinatingly mysterious entry into his eclectic filmography. Part noir, part romance, part psychological thriller and part back stage drama, the film blends and mixes genres into a dreamlike tapestry that defies convention in a way that only David Lynch can.

Review: Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) · 4:17pm Jul 29th, 2015

You know, I'm still unsure if this was actually a movie, or just some sick, sadistic joke that was crafted out of the hellish pits of the Underworld as judgement for our sins.

Like, words soon fail to describe just how ungodly horrific this film really is. The direction is nonexistent, the sound frequently dips out or doesn't mix at all, and the acting is a black hole of awful.

Review: Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997) · 7:38am Jun 25th, 2015

God is dead and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie killed him.

I mean, WOW the sheer amount of failure contained in this cinematic atrocity is beyond human comprehension, and can only be viewed while completely and utterly stoned out of one's mind.

The sets look like literal toys, the acting is more wooden then the entire Petrified Forest, and the story is a mind bogglingly incomprehensible mess of...something.

Review: Black Dynamite (2009) · 12:09am Jun 4th, 2016

Black Dynamite, despite all appearances, isn't a long lost blaxploitation film, but rather a deliberately retro send-up/love letter to the genre, and, while it's obvious in every frame that the cast and crew love blaxploitation with a passion, it doesn't quite hold together as well as it could have, though, to be honest, that may be the point.

It has been decided! · 5:05pm Jul 28th, 2015

Yo, people of the interwebs! I'm back on here giving you another update blog on how boring my day has been....erm....it's been pretty boring. Nah, I'm joking. I've actually been up and about today, I had a little walk outside to clear my mind and regain a tiny portion of my sanity. It felt good to spend a couple of hours outside, rather than being stuck inside all the time however, once I did get inside I decided to have one last look at what was on at the cinema for tomorrow and I have finally
