The biggest reason why updates to my sole remaining fanfic here come so slowly is that I don't spend a lot of time working on it, and the biggest reason for that is that I actually spend most of my time writing original work, and fanfic has become a bit of a palate cleanser for me in between.

So, in light of my new 100-follower status, I've redesigned my userpage to highlight both my most successful stories, and also some of the less successful pieces which I remain especially proud of. At the moment, I've only written 14 stories in just over a year, and that's including the somewhat dashed-off clop trilogy that got me my start and gave me this millstone of a username, so the distinction is kind of academic, but I'm hoping to just keep on writing new stuff.
Okay! After working on it FOREVER, I'm finally starting to post my OC-based horror story, The Resurrectionists. I know it's not what I normally do, but it's a great story, full of afterlife exploration, Lovecraftian creepiness, and smart-assed grad student ponies.
"And he could have had you arrested for that little stunt back there you know?"
"Wait what!?!" I stopped, my eyes widening as my ears tucked down to my head. That could have landed in me in jail!!
"You were screaming at a government official in a hostile to-”
“I wasn't being hostile; I'm just pissed off,” I grumbled to myself as I let out a yawn. Damn, the sun was high in the sky and I felt like I hadn't slept in three days.

I'm done with my original novel for now. And you know, writing original fics is like hitting yourself in the face with a hammer. It feels really good when you stop. And also while you're doing it, but I'm a masochist. And I really missed writing fanfic, so I've been typing with a vengeance since I sent off those beta links.
Anyway, if you like dumb gay ponies having happy sex, go read.
I just posted the epilogue. It's a pretty important story to me, as it is one of the first ones I started writing when I started writing fanfic. Obviously, it took me a while. But I'm pleased with how it turned out! I think it works, it uses the universe well even though its 90% OCs, and I think I gave it a solid ending.
It challenged me as a writer! I love doing stories that challenge me as a writer.
