So, I've finally gotten back into the swing of writing, and as such, I deleted my previous Halo crossover, "Into the Howling Dark".

Fear not, though. It is being rewritten as "Halo - Beyond the Howling Dark", set four years after Halo 5 in a slight AU. It will feature a familiar and new cast of characters from both sides, a far more tense and uncertain first contact, and more action to come.

It should be out soon, and I hope you'll enjoy them both.

Pros

• Gunplay is very solid. Once the controller issues were sorted out (set Axial Deadzone to 0 and Look Acceleration to 5), it felt exactly like MCC.
• The game is gorgeous. I cannot wait to see the campaign.
• The AI's are all very quirky and unique. My chosen one is damned hilarious.

Cons

• The UI isn't the greatest. It's been done cleaner and better in Halo titles of the past.

As of right now, Halo Infinite's multiplayer is live. They've calling it a "beta" but the battle pass is also live, and everything carries over to the launch in December.

For the past couple days, there's been a rumor swirling in the Halo community that the multiplayer component of Halo Infinite is going to be surprise-launched on Monday, which is Halo's, and Xbox's, 20th birthday. Multiple sources have chimed in, and 343, normally extremely quick on the draw to squash rumors that are not true, have been completely silent on this matter so far.

My 500th game also bumped me to Level 60.

Split right down the middle, too. 250 Arena games, 250 Warzone games.

Now that I've had a week with this game, and 130+ games played, I'm ready to review the first week of my experience in this game.

I'm not entirely sure what competitive rank I was expecting when I finished my 10th game of Breakout, but Platinum sure wasn't it.

I hope the game got it right, because I can't drop down to Gold if I'm out of my league here until December. Rank resets every months, and you can't drop a division to prevent de-ranking, which was rampant with bored high-level players in Halo 2 and 3.

Thank you to a longtime friend for helping me confirm that Halo Infinite's shotgun is the first in franchise history to not one-hit kill at point blank range.

There's one less counter for the sword. Definitely needs a buff.

I have to give a hats off to the AFK red responsible for two of these sixteen kills, as well as the teammates who saved my ass at the last moment twice. I've been playing Halo for 14 years, and just got my very first Perfection medal.

In my experience, nothing melts through a Warzone core faster than a fuel rod cannon. Doubly so for the faster-firing Light of Urs variant.
