So, crazy rumor going around... · 6:04am Nov 13th, 2021

For the past couple days, there's been a rumor swirling in the Halo community that the multiplayer component of Halo Infinite is going to be surprise-launched on Monday, which is Halo's, and Xbox's, 20th birthday. Multiple sources have chimed in, and 343, normally extremely quick on the draw to squash rumors that are not true, have been completely silent on this matter so far.

But as a grizzled veteran of the internet, I've seen these very, very believable rumors build up to an almost certainty, then the time comes and absolutely nothing happens.

So if it doesn't happen, cool. I need that time to write.

And if it does happen... Well, that would be one of the wildest moves the franchise has done. Reception to Battlefield 2042 and CoD Vanguard have been very lukewarm, and early competition like that would certainly mix things up. Plus three weeks would be more than enough time for players to get their fill of multiplayer, and be absolutely ready to dive into the campaign come December 8th, which I have heard nothing but good things about.

And seriously, if it happens, damn it Microsoft, I need that time to write...

I guess we'll find out. I think I can feel my story updates start to sweat nervously.

I’ve never even played a halo game except once at my cousins house, and I see that really would be pretty rockin’. I’m familiar with the lore from occasional fanfics over the years. This month I also started watching EBR’s “Evolution of” videos. I checked his series out just because I’m a fan of aliens and visual design. But it really highlighted the capabilities of games that were pushed in each entry. So I understand there’s an actual legacy and (modern) history to these games.

i dont trust any halos story after bungies, honeslty loved the bungie era games to death and while i will play infinite when i can, probably gonna wait for a while, i think 343 messed up what i once enjoyed but thats just my opinion,

i know i can always at least go back to the old ones and play those even if they are old they age like fine wine to me and ODST is still my fav for atmosphere and fun
