That is all
Well, unless something changes, it seems like the show will enter a mid-season hiatus courtesy of Discovery Family after "The Molt Down". At this point, I really don't see why Hasbro bothers to maintain the deal with Discovery Family, especially with the show slated to wrap up next year. Bumping it to Netflix now wouldn't hurt anything, and they've got homes for their other shows as well. Heck, with Hasbro recently having purchased Saban, they could always utilize that partnership for their own
INSPIRATION MANIFESTATION
So, I loved this episode for a lot reasons. It was funny, fresh, showed us a side of both Rarity and Spike that we haven't really seen before and displayed a major character growth point for the former. Let's get down to business.
SIMPLE WAYS
I LOVE BEING COVERED IN MUD!
Oh, joy of joys, this episode was top-tier in every way that matters. Canon characters, side characters, plot, humor... ugh, I love it. But, as usual, let's get down to business about why shall we?
After two weeks worth of lackluster episodes, this episode has a lot to do to get Season 8 back on track. This episode features the debut of the first new writer of the season, Brian Hohlfeld. He's written for a variety of shows before, but his most noticeable was working alongside Nicole Dubac to create Transformers: Rescue Bots (which is getting a spin-off series later this year). A show that, while it had the same animation studio as this show, utilized LA voice talent (including
Well, it's time for the mid season finale, again. Hey, at least this time we had no interruptions and it makes sense to stop here. The last time we had the show run in June and July, the schedule was so wonky that it was easy to forget there were episodes on, and I imagine the target audience had less interest. This episode actually got leaked twice, once without the background audio and then a few days ago it was aired in the U.K. on Tinypop (which aired the last three episodes of Season 6
Best season 7 episode so far! This one could very well end up being my favorite episode of the season. If not, it’ll probably end up somewhere in the top five.
Yes, I'm aware that this episode got leaked early in Russian with English subtitles, but I feel like it wouldn't be the same without hearing the original English voice actors and actresses. Anyway, we've got the last of the "Legends of Magic" tie in episodes leading up to the finale (which has been confirmed to tie into the IDW comics), and it's our third TwiShy episode to boot. Last time they were pared up was for "The Hooffields and McColts", a fairly good if somewhat forgotten episode
In today's episode, it turns out all that whining Thorax was doing in Triple Threat was actually foreshadowing! How about a direct episode sequel?
Word to the wise: Don't let anyone spoil you on the finale, it was amazing. Even me saying that is kind of spoily. If you think you've heard anything about it, go watch it right now, lest the best come across your plate like it did mine. D:
And season seven comes to a close, with a heck of a bang! :D I hope everyone enjoyed Shadow Play, because I sure as hell did!
Before I get into the reaction and analysis, I wanted to bring up something interesting. I was looking through transcripts recently and came across this gem, from The Crystalling, part 2:
It's that time again, time to look back at all the episodes and see how all they stack up. With 182 episodes to get through, trying to explain why each one ends where it does would take forever, so just ask if you're curious. As always, this list is not official by any means, it is purely the result of my personal opinion. Here's version 7, from the end of Season 7.
This garbage fire shit show of a season finally produced an episode I actually liked.
Well, thanks to scheduling quirks, early releases, whatever you wanna blame, a whole bunch of countries will be airing (or have already aired) the Season 8 finale before Discovery Family gets a chance to do so.
After a year and a half of writing...I am happy to say that...
Episode Versus 23 (Episode 23-2) Is now in editing...
Expect the next episode soon for those that still care...
Now it's on to Season 2, and it's time to see where the episode fall now. Here's the previous version in case you want to see what changed. Remember that this list is not official, it's just my opinion.
26. The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000
25. The Cutie Pox
24. Hearth's Warming Eve
Just like the previous episode, this one has been aired early so if you're waiting for it to air on Discovery Family, well you know the drill.
