It's a treat every time this story updates :3
It's interesting how this story's plodding pace works to its advantage. It really feels like the reader is just accompanying a character through some events in their life. Sometimes, stuff just happens to you, and it's not always inciting incident, rising action, climax or a big epic struggle or a clear quest for something. We're 80k in and Kaz's goal is still just "make it through this," which is not a very heroic sort of goal. It's a very realistic sort of goal, the sort of thing that a real person would try to do. One could call it mundane, but it's one of those things where there's beauty in the mundane, and I'm really enjoying it.
I still have no idea where you're going with this. It could scale up to an epic conflict, the way Murky did. It could remain a very personal story about Kaz just trying to survive. Maybe there's a middle ground between the two. Either way, I look forward to the rest.
Loving the story, you've created a great atmosphere and the pacing matches it. I look forward to more chapters.

Glad you're still enjoying it, and your wish is my command: the next chapter is live!
Working at a locksmith do I know the importance of sorting screws after size... and how fucking annoying it is to drop one and have to crawl around the floor after it. I would not think that it got any easier in the wasteland
