Everyone has heard the stories of Fillydelphia, from the Stable Dweller herself down to the lowliest slaves that survived the unspeakable horrors and hardships. Many forget those who weren't slaves or slavers, but they have stories too...

Praise be he! The bringer of content, the swift lord of the northern winds whom heeds the calls of his believers!
Thanks for another chapter! Keep up the good work. :3
To reflect upon chapters 8-11, wow, Kas has got the be one of the luckiest inhabitants in Fillydelphia, griffon or not all things considered. You'd expect under General Stern's administration, Kas would have been put on the firing line or reduced to a wingless slave for the rest of his life. But by some miraculous assumption, Stutter Flash thinks he's the one being punished all and keeping Kas alive was precedent because Serge didn't clarify how Kas was to be treated in his punishment reassignment.
Moreso a few fellow Talons remain as supportive they can instead of ostracizing Kas for the friendly fire incident with Ida. Granted, anyone who were Ada's friends or were true believers of mercenary camaraderie would be miffed Ida being killed by one of her own instead of more acceptable/dignified reasons, but I would address that there was a difference between a mistake out of anyone's control than if Kas had really intended to kill Ida, quite surprised his superiors acknowledged conditioned rendered him unfit to patrol on that day.
Though I won't fault for the inevitable griffon who'll get passively pissed about Kas being allowed back into the Talon ranks. Thankfully though three months near the pit should have hardened...or at least desensitized Kas to moderate his sleeping disorder.
But huh's, wonders what one of the Goddess's alicorns was inspect Kas specifically for, given only certain ponies are compatible to become new alicorns and that's all the hivemind really cares about aside from Red Eye's offer.
In regards to this chapter, this would be very, VERY ironic if Kas ended up the victim of misfire at the hands of Amalia. Her near lethal ricochet alluded to such.
Anywho, I look more forward to this alternate perspective of one of the unwilling rank-and-file followers of Red Eye.
Curiously, I do wonder if Kas could have avoided the trauma of forcibly executing a pony, losing sleep, killing Ida in his delirium and being sentenced to radiating penal duty if he could have negotiated to Stern or such to extend his contract/service for a year in return for a number of visitations with his father.
Hopefully these two cents of my thoughts served well.
