Violet Blurr is at the Spa one day when she overhears Fluttershy talking about an adorable little puppy. Naturally, she, Photo Finish, and Pixel Pizzazz take the opportunity to snapshot a new model.

The Halloween after her actions at the Fall Formal, Sunset Shimmer isn't a popular student. In an attempt to show she's changed, Sunset volunteers to check over the list of costumes for Canterlot High's Halloween Party. Making sure they're all appropriate, Sunset goes a little over the top. Also, Trixie doesn't help.

Derpy has been out of school for months, due to a severe case of mono. She's finally better and ready to return to school.
But everything's different. Practically all of her friends and classmates are obsessed with auditions for a "Battle of the Bands", and Derpy is left confused.
