Celestia teleports into Shepherd's house.
Shepherd: "Ack! Uh, Princess?"
Celestia: "Hello Shepherd. I was wondering if you could help me out?"
Shepherd: "Uh... Sure? How would you like me to help?"
Celestia: "I need a massage."
Shepherd: "Right now?"
Celestia: "Yes, right now. Otherwise I'm going to kill every pony on the planet."
Shepherd: "... Well, I think I can make some time in my schedule to help you out. Ahem. For the sake of the planet."
Celestia: "I thought so."

Shepherd: "Just out of curiosity, what would your plan have been if I'd said 'no'?"
Celestia: "Oh, I would have allowed the sun to age until it eventually went supernova, before collapsing into a black hole."
Shepherd: "I see. And how long would this have taken?"
Celestia: "About...5 billion years. Give or take a few hundred million."
Shepherd: "...what."
Celestia: "Thank you for the massage; I should probably get back to ruling the nation!"

And the hilarious part is that that would technically in fact make good on her threat -- she just said she needed the massage right now, after all, not in how much of a rush she’d be to actually kill everypony otherwise or that she couldn’t just wait until such a time when there were no actual ponies on the planet and then declare that empty set “killed” without even having to lift a hoof.

I'd point out that our Sun isn't big enough to go Supernova, but, Equestria's sun isn't ours, and also magic is weird, so, we don't know WHAT Celestia can do to the Sun beyond make it rise and set.
