very, very, very experimental fic continues its slow progress as the deadline for bicyclette's sci-fi contest draws near. these chapters are about on-par with what if in terms of length, but oh boy have they been an interesting experience to write.
yeah so anyway here is my webbed site lol. there's an MC Classic server for building whatever, and an MC Beta 1.7.3 server for playing survival. I might eventually also put up a modern vanilla server as well, though given how I'm hosting a bunch of servers already for friends and a couple of discord servers, idk if the little slab of a PC I'm using to host 'em all would be able to manage lol.

absolutely. i think the show would be better off if sparky wasn't there at all, or was maybe replaced by a pet that wasn't acting so much like a human infant who happens to just kinda be there. he just doesn't add much anything to the plot aside from being a source of randomness.

That’s an uncomfortable running theme these days, like with Halo and their “book accurate” representation of their show.
I can’t understand how somebody or people could be put in charge of something without being familiar with the source material, or worse, not care about it in the first place. Ofc I guess it’s possible they have seen at least some of G4 and just want it to go their own way.

Keep in mind GM Berrow is ostensibly the show runner here, but given the rather poor reputation of her MLP work, especially in terms of it being canon compliant, I suppose it's not surprising that this went off the rails as soon as the movie folks handed it over. Could even be intentional, but I don't have 'proof' of that.
At the end of the day Atomic Cartoons has staffed this show with people after a paycheck who see it as another product to churn out for 3-5 year olds, the exact opposite of what Faust and DHX were doing, which is why it isn't working. By the time anyone at Hasbro realizes that the toys aren't selling, it'll be too late to fix.
Tell Your Tale has already pretty much failed (newer episodes are struggling to crack the 50k views mark) but I'm sure they'll write that off as an experiment. Make Your Mark? I'd be shocked if they even fill the current order of 3D content planned.

Man, I hate to say “back in my day” because it sounds pretentious af, but there really is no excuse for working on something that requires a lot of talent to do well, and just half assing it to save money. All that does is ruin your reputation in the hopes of milking the cow a bit more, until sales fall below the production budget. If anything, I’d even say it’s worse today, because the people running entertainment don’t care about entertaining anymore, at least back a few decades ago, they tried even if the result was still garbage.
No passion for anything anymore, and we’re stuck hoping an indie film maker will do something better with a small team or alone. It’s sad.

Personally, I blame Scooby-Doo (& the team of Hanna/Barbera). They showed that neither good artwork nor good writing are needed to be successful.
