The Voice in the Water

Listen to the crashing of the waves, the flow of a stream, the roar of a waterfall, or the patter of the rain.

    Next chapter delayed a bit

    Hey all.

Field season really kicked into gear in early April, so I've been getting home exhausted pretty much every day. That and a bout of creative block means the next chapter of Phoenix-born is probably not going to be out until mid-May at the earliest.

Hazbin Hotel Episode 1 - I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

So, after however many years, we finally get Hazbin Hotel. I've been waiting for it to come out since I saw the pilot. When the first episode dropped, I watched it before checking out any reviews or commentary, because I wanted to go in without any preconceptions clouding my view of the series.

And honestly, I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching.

Working on the next chapter, and realizing something I wish I could do.

So, as I've written more of Rising, I've come to realize that there's something I wish I could do with the formatting. Namely, I wish I could have two columns of text, one that would represent the main narrative from Sunset's external perspective, and one that could be used for when Sunset and Philomena are sending, or when Philomena is sharing her perspective. I don't know how easy something

    Favorite Super Robot attacks

Because I'm going through anime withdrawal due to having my internet via wi-fi hotspot and therefore must ration my data usage, and don't have access to my disk collection, here's a bunch of my favorite attack names from Super Robot anime, and the series they come from. This is by no means a complete list of all the attack names I like, but they're some of my favorites.

Just one of those writing sessions · 12:44pm Jul 20th, 2022

You ever have one of those days where you've been outlining the next story arc, and you've got an antagonist in mind, but no matter what you do, you just can't make it work? Yea, I'm dealing with one of those. Except its not days, it's weeks.

The gist of the situation's that I've got the next ca. 6-7 chapters of "The trials" outlined, but kept running into a problem with the planned antagonist, and how if I wanted to go with what I was planning, I'd have to 1) cause a massive tonal shift in the story, 2) require Raven, Steel and Roseluck to be incompetent, 3) just kinda felt like I was including them for the sake of having some sort of big threat, and 4) would require me to use the Worf effect on the phoenix-born and prominence knights to make it happen. So, I've had to go back and scrap a huge portion of the outline, because I just couldn't make it work.

Just felt like sharing, because I am working on getting Phoenix-born Rising wrapped up. I've just run into a few road blocks.

Not sure what to suggest at the moment but take your time. This story is worth waiting for.

Good on you for not forcing it through despite all those issues. No scene is worth a line that doesn't fit in it, no chapter is worth a scene, and no setting is worth a villain. Here's hoping you can find a solution soon.

I agree, take your time. You've got all the time in the world, and we can wait.

I had never heard of the Worf effect and now that I know that makes a lot of sense. I suppose my suggestion would be to understand the goal you are trying to reach. The characters want to tell their story, but you still need to reach that goal. You have to be the captain and steer the ship.
Remember that you have this whole great big world to work with. Lots of places to pull from.

this is a great story . You could worf sunset ,she is a inexperienced and reluctant student vs experienced and hardened opponents is not really A worf in other stories it is hinted that the princess often use the push the student into the deep end of the pool to learn how to swim method to teach.
