More Proof Konami Can't Design Good Yugioh Cards · 10:18pm Jun 22nd, 2022
Below the break.
The fan name people are going with for this upcoming card is "Morphtronic Telefon".
Gains this effect based on its battle position.
● Attack Position: Once per turn: You can roll a six-sided die, and if you do, gain LP equal to the result x 100, then you can Special Summon 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your GY whose Level is equal to or lower than the result.
● Defense Position: Once per turn: You can roll a six-sided die, excavate cards from the top of your Deck equal to the result, and if you do, you can send 1 excavated "Morphtronic" card to the GY. Place the rest on the top or bottom of the Deck in any order.
See the problem? Read it again, it's easy to overlook because this seems like such an obvious loophole they've long remembered to close on so many cards like this, that you may not realize they didn't close it on this one.
There's no "only use the effect of cards with this name once per turn" clause, and no text that says it can't summon another copy of itself.
Telefon is exploitable in the same way the Wind-Ups were exploitable back in the day, if you can recycle it on and off the field, you can keep using its effect and swarm the field with Telefons over and over. And a reminder that Morphtronics also have Celfon and Smartfon. Don't remember what they do?
Because they're all Level 1, they are guaranteed to be able to be revived by Telefon, setting up a Link, plus Smartfon and Celfon can use their own effects too. Then you just need a way to get Telefon back on the field to do the combo over. And, because they're Level 1 Earth Machines that are part of an archetype, and Smartfon and Telefon are Tuners, they are ridiculously searchable and revivable - One For One, Where Arf Thou, Morphtronic Forcefield, Morphtronic Remoten, Morphtronic Repair Unit, Mystic Piper, Kinka-byo, Junk Box. Machine Duplication. Plus there are also searcher cards coming themed on Duke Devlin, and search out any card effect that involves a dice roll, and one of those cards is a Field Spell that searches out a Normal Spell that searches out any dice-rolling card.
Oh, and remember, aside from the summoning loops you're pulling off with this thing, you're getting LP every time you use its effect.
This thing is 100% going to be Limited, if not Forbidden. How the hell did Konami not realize this was so exploitable?
Do you know what I want to see in the future? Magical Girl themed cards, I mean they've made ones for Dragon Maids, Superheroes/Anti-Heroes and even ones based off of Samurai. So why not make that?

Magician Girls?
5666784 I don't think they really count. I mean Dark Magician Girl is the most iconic Magician Girl but what I'm talking about is the quintessential tropes, Magic Wands, Cute Mascot, and of course Overpowered Magical Attacks. Case in point:
Alas, poor Deskfon, we barely knew ye.
But yeah, that's an Oko-level inexplicable oversight. (Context: Somehow, no one at Wizards of the Coast thought to use the middle ability on the opponent's stuff during playtesting.)

5666796 Interesting, but you'll also need equip cards and trap cards of course. Also additional forms, like how Sailor Moon has her super form in the later seasons.
Been years since I played YGO, so most of the interactions you mentioned went right over my head. But, seeing those cards gave me flashbacks to Kētai Sōsakan 7. If you're not familiar with the show, here's the opening:
It's getting kind of absurd how tiny the text is getting on these cards. I can barely even tell those are words at the bottom of the Smartphone guy's card.
