In my story, "Blaze the Pony Tale", I established something alongside the magic Map that alerts the Council of Friendship to Friendship Problems in Equestria.
The stallions of my Harmonic Twelve (Midnight Blaze, Bic Macintosh, Thunderlane, Blueblood, Soarin, and Cheese Sandwich) were each bestowed, by the Map, a Crystal that was absorbed into their bodies, leaving them perplexed and confused as to what it meant. Then, one by one, each of the stallions was called by the Map and sent on solo missions where Harmony was threatened by some kind of injustice.
Except for Midnight, in each of these cases, the crystal that each stallion had absorbed, was manifested as a Sword, and when the stallion went on his mission the Sword reacted to his heart and would be revealed to have a name, an alternate form, and special powers.
Finally, in my side-story, "BPT: The Coup of Avarice", the swords' purposes were revealed to the stallions by a legendary alicorn known as Stormbreaker, who revealed to them that they had been chosen by Harmony itself to be champions of the ideals of Harmony, Friendship, and Justice. The Knights of Harmony
As of "The Coup of Avarice", each of the original six knights have unlocked the hidden form and powers of his sword, as well as learned its name. Then, in "Chapter 330. The Crystalling", it was revealed that the knights are able to knight those they deem worthy and indoing so bestow upon them a sword of their own.
Thus far, four new knights have been admitted into the knighthood, Shining Armor, Sunburst, DFatman's OC Firestorm, and Secretly Yordle's OC Terra
I eventually plan to include more, as the story progresses, and no, this is not an invitation to any other OCs unless I personally ask you if you'd like for your OC to be included as a knight. I have to determine and figure out any future roles for the knights I currently have and the ones I plan to include.
For now, here is the Harmonic Knightly Oath:
For Harmony, we stand united
For Harmony, we inspire
For Harmony, we will be true
For Harmony, we believe in each other
For Harmony, we never give up

Maybe for Midnight’s future plans you could have him enter the Mane Five’s world in G5 where Midnight helps Sunny Starscout bring back magic and friendship in Equestria’s future?
It would be similar to your Midnight adventures on Equestria’s last but it would be in G5 many many years later.
I'm not sure how or even if I'll integrate elements of G5 into my story
