    Zapfilly has been cancelled.

I won't mince words here. This story was not going the way I wanted it to. It was a spur-of-the-moment idea, which should have ended as a one-shot. I have dearly overestimated my own ability.

Obstacles, and the Importance of Relaxation

Hello, everyone. If you've read my last blog post, you have realized by now that I did not put out the next chapter of Zapfilly in time. As expected (and I swear this happens way too often) there were many fastballs in the three weeks I was writing the chapter. Physics likes to do that, so I think at this point it is safe to say that until mid-June there won't be any updates. My final exams begin

    I appear to have fallen

And I can't get up. And I mean I have fallen, metaphorically, into a pit.

It's that time of the year again... · 9:24pm Dec 10th, 2012

And no, I don't mean Christmas.

For those of you currently listed under the occupation of "student", and especially so if you're in a university of sorts, this time of year is crunch time. Now, I've been spending the last half-week or so reviewing for my multivariable calculus final (Lagrange multipliers are nasty), so I've actually gotten very little work done into the next chapter of Zapfilly thus far.

My last final is on Thursday, which is when I will be taking the Sword of Knowledge to combat the Elder Final Exam of Discrete Mathematics. After that, though, I plan on doing some refurbishing in my room, which involves a lot of elbow grease, moving beds, and relocating a ton of drawers so that I may be able to put in my new table. It's a lot bigger than the one I have now, and I have an extra monitor to put on it, so maybe my PS3 won't be sitting in the corner collecting dust, and I'll actually be able to play it while I type.

So basically, I probably won't have the new chapter out until the end of Thursday at the earliest.

Anyways, have a happy holiday-mas.

The new blog system has it so when you post a blog, you can select your own stories so that people who favorited those stories also get the notification. So I marked this blog post with Zapfilly, and since you favorited Zapfilly the notification for this blog post got to you. It's meant as a way for authors to get the word out to people about a specific story, like if you might be a bit behind schedule (as is the case for me).

If you were also watching my profile, you'd get two notifications if you also followed Zapfilly: one since you're watching me, and another for the same blog post since you were following Zapfilly.

595241 well thats a lot more handy :rainbowkiss: I don't have to follow people to find out about their stories

I'm a university student and don't have exams until mid January, not to rub it in or anything... though if it makes you feel better it means revising over the holidays. :ajbemused:

Well, my university is unique in that it runs on a quarter system rather than a semester system, which is what most other universities use. In the quarter system, a single academic term is only ten weeks long, as opposed to the fifteen weeks in a semester system. Same amount of material with less amount of time... which means less opportunities to study. You're probably operating on the semester system, which would explain why your exams are in January.

I'm on a semester system, but I still have finals this week, too.
It is... a most unpleasant time.

I think we are on semesters, yes. Three exams mid January plus dates to be confirmed around the start of Summer for five more. Though, by the sounds of it, your course is much more intense!

Merry Christmas!

Anyways take your time, school is more important. Good luck!

That's very strange. Are they your midterms? They're awfully late.

595335

It is more intense since we have less time to cover things and study, but we are limited to a maximum of four classes per quarter. I know that semester universities allow you to take five or six per semester, but I think I'd rather take the longer term than less classes.

Nope. These are final exams.
Funny you should ask, though. I just had my third O-Chem Midterm two weeks ago. I don't think that word means what my teacher thinks it means...

My course is split into six mandatory modules plus three more, of which you have to choose two. I chose Marine Environmental Technologies and Phytoplankton. However, some of these modules have already finished for the entire academic year, while some haven't even started yet.

Very well, good luck.

Finals :pinkiesick: Oh well, this semester is my lightest so far in terms of them

I'm in a community college... My final exams are already done.
