    Zapfilly has been cancelled.

I won't mince words here. This story was not going the way I wanted it to. It was a spur-of-the-moment idea, which should have ended as a one-shot. I have dearly overestimated my own ability.

Obstacles, and the Importance of Relaxation

Hello, everyone. If you've read my last blog post, you have realized by now that I did not put out the next chapter of Zapfilly in time. As expected (and I swear this happens way too often) there were many fastballs in the three weeks I was writing the chapter. Physics likes to do that, so I think at this point it is safe to say that until mid-June there won't be any updates. My final exams begin

    I appear to have fallen

    Arrangement of Priorities

Hello, everyone. I'd would like to notify you all that the next chapter isn't going to be out this week. Or next week.

I appear to have fallen · 11:24pm Apr 10th, 2013

And I can't get up. And I mean I have fallen, metaphorically, into a pit.

It's that time of the year again, wherein the plants see fit to disperse their pollen in droves that would equal a tsunami of allergen bombs. That, coupled with the increasing heat where I live has created a seemingly never-ending cycle of lethargy for me, as I am either too miserable after blowing my nose three dozen times to no avail, or trying to fight away the sluggishness that the heat keeps forcing upon me.

I've gotten about 3.5k into the most recent chapter of Zapfilly, so hopefully it'll be finished (sometime) soon. I can't make any guarantees, as nature will not give me any guarantees. We'll see how this works out.

Sorry to hear that, man :fluttershysad: Hope that pollen nightmare ends soon and you get better

Sounds like California. I should know, I live there.

Quite.

I live in SoCal, and the weather's being bipolar again. :raritydespair:

1014204

Good old Southern California. So how far are you from L.A.?

a3V

1014219

Couple miles east of it in the middle of nowhere. Situated in some place between the City of Industry and Riverside.

It's quiet here, I'll give it that at least.

Wow, we're that close? I'm about forty-five minutes from L.A. myself with good traffic. Did you grow up in your area?

a3V

1014275

Yeah, I did. Spent most of my life in the tiny southwestern corner of San Bernardino County.

I'm not even sure why we're with SB county. We're a lot closer to LA County, for sure.

1014283

Considering your proximity to L.A., I'd probably guess you're right on the edge of LA County. You got any family around California?

a3V

1014294

Well, yeah. I live here. :|

1014300

Is that immediate or extended family? I myself really don't have much family near home these days.

a3V

1014358

Immediate family. My whole family grew up in this general region.

1014397

How general? For all I know, you might have cousins near my area.

a3V

1014403

Well, I'd rather not say.

Seriously, all the questions you're asking are coming off really creepy. I'm not even sure why you'd want to know exactly where my family lives.

1014407

Let's just turn the conversation in another direction then. You ever been around the area of the Antelope Valley?

a3V

1014415

Never heard of it.

1014418

Not surprising, considering that it's pretty much two major cities for the most part. You're probably more familiar with city names than Valley names, correct?

a3V

1014428

I guess? I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here.

1014434

Eh, doesn't really matter. You got any fun hobbies outside pony that you can share?

a3V

1014452

I do, but I don't particularly care to share them. I'm not sure if you're trying to hold a conversation or not, but you're really doing this in the worst way possible.

1014457

Yeah, I'm not exactly one of the smartest people in conversation; I'm more of a recluse when it comes to socializing. Doesn't mean I can't be good at editing, as I'm a pretty good reader. Say, when will Zapfilly get its next update? Should be within the next couple of months, right? I'm curious as to what DT's reaction will be if she sees Sweetie Belle in her home.

Also, I would like to suggest that you make it clearer what character is being focused on. There was a point at which I had to re-read the same passages.

1014471

I admit the cast has increased since I started writing the fic. I don't think I'll be planning on any more, and I don't think the next chapter will be for another week or so.

If you're not much of a conversationalist, a good idea to keep in mind is to not ask total strangers about where they live, their hobbies, etc. until you're a bit more familiar with them. If you drop those topics right off the start you will come off as a creepy stranger. Those are topics that no one online should need to know, and for me only friends in real life can be privy to that information.

Also, comments are not a good way of continuing a conversation.

1014477

Yeah, I'll try to remember that. Thanks.
