A (Quick) Update on my Status · 5:55am May 5th, 2013
Hello, all. Just the usual blog post to assure everyone I am quite alive still, and kicking.
Thanks to the oppressing summer heat, I have obtained a few new ideas for fics. The first of which is a fic detailing a day revolving around said oppressive atmosphere due to heat, which will be a comedy one-shot. This one came to me as I was driving back along the I-60 Westbound with a broken air conditioner unit while staring into the eye of despair known as the Sun. Perhaps "came to me" is a bit of an understatement, because I was literally sweating my butt off just by sitting idly in a car.
The second fic I had in mind was a world-building adventure fic revolving around an older Spike and the idea of underwater monster hunting, off the coast of a Griffon-controlled merchant (or maritime) republic. If anyone's looked at the official Equestria map, you'll notice that there's quite a bit of water separating Equestria from pretty much everything else. While I won't be using the land in the map as the actual Equestria, the Griffon nations will probably be across the sea to the east, just to set a basis. This was mostly influenced during my time in theme park arcades playing The Ocean Hunter game, and various tales about the epic denizens of the deep.
Thirdly, I have been contemplating writing a romance fic between Rainbow Dash and Dumbbell. Braeburn, Big Macintosh, and Soarin are the three most used stallions (as far as I know) when it comes to any heterosexual shipping, so I wanted to branch out and try something different, but not with an OC. There are lot of characters in the world of MLP:FiM, so it seems kind of moot to use an OC when there are already so many established characters (even if only appearance) already present in the show.
I'm also contemplating a fic with Fancy Pants, wherein he tries to do something quite different, and a comedic action thriller along the veins of Hot Fuzz, starring Blueblood. The former I came up with because I thought that Fancy Pants could use some face time, and the second because I don't want Blueblood to remain an irredeemable twit in my mind forever (barring The Best Night Ever by Capn_Chryssalid, of course). I'm sure there are a few more ideas hiding in the back of my head, and they'll reveal themselves in due time.
This week is crunch time for me, as I have two midterms this week. The first being a physics midterm based around fluid dynamics and other things I probably can't recall at this moment, and the second being an ethnic studies midterm wherein I will have to read dozens of pages about white men arguing the moralities of the nature of foreign peoples (who are quite drab and cocky, might I add). I won't have time to work on any fics this week, but I'll probably have some time next week to work on the fics.
Oh, and I'm about halfway through the next chapter of Zapfilly, so fear not. It'll be done within the next three weeks, time permitting.

He showed up in the episode "Sonic Rainboom" as one of Rainbow Dash's detractors. He's the stallion with a light grey mane and a dark brown coat.

I didn't want to use Hoops because he sounded like a dimwit. It would have been quite the uphill battle if I used him instead of Dumbbell.
