As a environmental message, it's fair-to-middling at best.
As a story which depicts how they might've handled Diamond Tiara AFTER her redemption, it's positively flawless.
And hopefully will be updating more often now. Well, one story at a time, instead of lots at once... but it's a start, right? 
Also, quick question... how popular is Fimfiction now? It seems to still be well frequented by the regulars, but what about new members? Asking for a friend... (well, actually for myself. Me? FRIENDS?! Bwhahahah...
