Dan Vs. Kent: The Interview Part 1

Barro: So, for the folks at home, why don't you start with your name?

Kent: Kenentan Etikorem Krace. People usually just abbreviate it to "Kent."

Barro: Heh... you know, your initials spells out KEK, right?

Kent: ...Okay. Is that a joke?

Barro: Umm... anyway, so what brings you to Equestria? What brought you to our lovely corner of everything?

Kent: *folds arms* Ah, well, that would be a quasi-successful broadcaster who writes about cartoon ponies in his spare time.

Barro: ...

Kent: I can make jokes, too.

Barro: ...Uh-huh, yeah, you made that clear. Okay, so, seriously, for the record, what are you doing on Equestria? Why are you here?

Kent: There's a few reasons, actually. First, the Sith are here, and where the Sith are, the Jedi must protect the innocent and the defenseless from their actions.

Barro: Yes, the ongoing religious war. Dan's made it very clear that travelers leave their problems at the door when they come to Equestria, especially Ponyville and the Core Region. How are you planning on protecting innocents with that in mind?

Kent: The Sith don't care about your planet's policies, Mr. Barro. The Jedi respect them. Believe me when I say you'll understand the difference when you see it, as will Dan. I suggest you- and Dan, take that into the utmost consideration when you judge our actions here.

Barro: Speaking of the Sith, what do you think they're doing here?

Kent: The Sith care about one thing and one thing only- power. Getting more for themselves, even at the expense of their own kind. It's what leads them to destruction, ruthless pursuit of power by any means necessary. Equestria has magic, has a lot that would interest them. Artifacts, crystals, potions, even powerful creatures they could capture and use as weapons. They'd enslave and strip-mine the entire planet, use it until there was nothing left or outright destroy it on a whim.

Barro: And you and Mr. Braddaig are here to stop that. We've had our share of sinister interlopers before, Mr. Krace. The Decepticons, Team Rocket, hippies- Equestria is no stranger to malevolent malcontents and terrorists. You truly believe the Sith are more of a threat than these?

Kent: *pauses, considering* I don't know. I know that the Sith are not to be trifled with. Beyond that, I can only guess.

Barro: I see. So, you mentioned there are other reasons for you being here.

Kent: Yes, there's evidence of both Jedi and Sith involvement in Equestria's past. Possibly long before it was known as Equestria. The Jedi Order has come to learn and research our previous relationship.

Barro: The Vulcan Science Academy has also expressed interest in researching Equestria. What do you think of Dan's proposition about limiting groups of visitors?

Kent: You mean when he said "we have enough dorks here already?"

Barro: Well, despite his... unique candor, he does appear to be serious about the matter. His word is considerably respected around Equestria, and with the princesses.

Kent: *Leans forward* Again, the Jedi and groups like these Vulcans respect Equestria's sovereignty and laws. There will be those that do and those that don't. Quite simply, Mr. Barro, it's not the groups that do that you have to worry about.

Barro: ...We'll see. I think that's enough for now, thank you for your time. For Ponyville Action News, I'm Barro Broadcaster... and I'm successful in Equestria, at least!

Kent: *leaves*
