Zenex awoke a few hours later. He looked around feeling the stone ground at his hooves. “Ugh...” he groaned, standing up. He wobbled a bit. “E-Eclipse! Where are you buddy?!”
He continued to walk until he found what appeared to be a box. Out of curiosity, he opened it. Inside was...
A thing.
Zenex had read about weapons like these in a book about the human world. What was this 'L' shaped weapon called again? Piston? Pisto?
“P... P... Pistol.” Zenex picked the weapon up and gripped it in his hoof. “W-Why is this here...?”
He sighed and tried to remember how it worked. “Okay... there’s a magazine release...” he clicked a button near the grip and the magazine fell out. He examined it, seeing a few metal objects. “Bullets in...” he slid it back in. “And... pull back on this thing...” he pulled back on the slide, which chambered a round. “Safety off...”
As Zenex was fumbling with the weapon, he soon heard a soft crying. He looked up. “W-What...? H-Hello?!” He ran towards the crying. He soon found a certain purple changeling curled up. “F-Flutters...?” He approached. As he got closer, he realized that her crying sounded more like a low growl.
“F-Flutterwings...? Is... is that you...?”
The nymph raised her head, and her crying turned into a cackling laugh. She turned around and hissed at him. Zenex stared in horror as nymph’s fangs became longer, long demon-like claws exploding from her hooves, giant devil horns beginning to protrude from the sides of her head, and her wings being replaced with demon ones.
Zenex sat on the ground, petrified. The 'nymph' let out a roar and stood tall over Zenex.
Zenex’s fight or flight instinct took control and he raised the pistol and squeezed the trigger, sending the entire magazine worth of bullets into the monster.
The creature fell down dead. Zenex sat against a wall and began crying, looking into his 'girlfriend’s' lifeless eyes.
“I’m sorry... I’m sorry...” he continued to cry.
Then, he heard a sizzling sound.
He looked up to see the nymph’s features morphing into a more demon build. Then, the demon dissolved. It was playing mind games with him...
Zenex sniffled, picking himself up and reloading the pistol. He had to push on. Eclipse was waiting for him.
