Not checking in here. I may post stories because my patrons are nice and like ponies. Otherwise out of the fandom, sorry peeps.

    There's where you go.

If you don't have money, fair enough. I've been there, done that. If you do and don't care, fuck off.

    The zines are for sale.

I'll just bump you folks over to twitter for details, but the short version is they're $5 each, $2 USA shipping, $4 international, and I have two pony ones, A Twilight Trio (Unhorsed, Apex, Dreaming of Dragons) and Tender is the Night.

    It exists. :3

That, my friends, is a zine, or a tiny, handmade book, containing three of my recent stories. Right now I'm working on getting them out to the Patrons, and after that I will be selling them in some way or another.

    Zines! AKA tiny books!

I never managed to get on the pony book bandwagon. I just... self publishing is hard, okay? :P But zines are at least marginally less hard, I only have to wrestle with Libre Office, not with some printer's completely unfamiliar absolutely everything.

    Any Hades fans out there?

I do actually have a pony story coming up! (On Patreon on Monday, here on Fimfic on Wednesday! Just a cute little erotica short, but it's one I particularly liked!)

But I'm also currently in the middle of writing Hades story number four in just the last week, so, uh... On a bit of a roll there!

2020

Well, I join all the Californians in having forest/brush fires fuck with me. We are safe, and will almost certainly not have to evacuate. But the air quality is so bad I worry for my friends living in older houses that won't keep the smoke out, and it's literally snowing ash so much I needed my windshield wipers when I had to make a brief trip out earlier.

It's freaky.

2020 now looks the way it's felt all year. Dark, hazy, apocalyptic. It's like I'm in a movie. I'm half expecting to turn around and find a replicant, or that there's a dinosaur falling over dead, or a volcano erupting.

The sky is yellow-orange, and when the kiddo stepped out the door she said, "What is that red thing?" pointing up.

It was the sun. The color of blood. Everything looks overcast, but there are no clouds. The "overcast" is entirely smoke and ash.

The ash is forming drifts. They're not very big, yet. But...

There are evacuation orders all over the state. One of them is about ten miles from me. The nearest big fire is probably 20 miles from me, with a whipping wind blowing right my way. Everything is bone dry. Everything is ideal for burning. And so it is. The firefighters aren't even trying, there would be no point. You can't stop a fire like this unless you have time and space to make massive fire breaks, and it's moving fast.

God, it's just so surreal.

Hope anybody else out there dealing with this is okay.

Hope you can stay safe.

Thanks. I should be fine, really.

2020 now looks the way it's felt all year.

Your house doesn't look enough like a Dumpster™ for this to be true. (Yes, that is in fact a trademark, like Jell-O™ and Kleenex™.)

Hmm. I dunno, we have a toddler, so it's a bit of a disaster area. And we're also deliberately not cleaning up the massive pile of camping gear in the living room, because if worst comes to worst, we'll need to be able to load it out into the car quickly to make a run for it.

5351614
I actually thought about that before posting, but went "screw it" because the joke about genericized trademarks could carry the comment.

Well, it's good that you're safe at least. Apparently, one of those dumb "gender reveal parties" was the source of the fire. Because that's something people celebrate now. :applejackunsure:

This year could end with Yellowstone erupting and I wouldn't be surprised.

Hah.

Yeah... Those are the height of middle-class suburban white narcissism. As if baby showers weren't enough attention on parents/babies. Gotta add in an extra party.

And bonus for it being binary, essentialist, regressive, transphobic, however you want to put that. Proudly declare your child's eternal place on the boy-girl binary! Uhm. Maybe the kiddo is non-binary or trans? It's too early to tell, so why make such a fuss at this point? Oh right, because these people think that's all nonsense and kids *are* their genitals. Which is gross even putting aside trans issues. I could go on...

*ahem*

It's so damn stupid. When a dumbass teen started some of the worst of last year's fires I was mad. These were grown adults who should have known better!

“One does not simply walk into Mordor."

One does not have to, because Mordor (apparently) delivers.

Stay safe!

5351628
*snerk* Yeah, it is a bit like that. With the red eye of Sauron and all! Though the sun has set now. I was promised glorious, dramatic, smoky sunsets, but it did not deliver, it just got redder and darker, and then less red and more dark. Bleh.

Insert overused 'One Ring Black Speech' lines here.

5351627
"On the negative side, our home and countless acres of land are in danger from a massive fire, but on the plus side, it's a boy!" - These parents, probably.

I just don't get the point of a party to celebrate it, I'm betting this it just be a short-lived fad that will be rightfully seen as cringy. A waste of everyone's time and money that gives the impression that a child's gender is more important than it actually is. Finding pictures of parties like this many years later would be awkward enough even without stuff like this.

the same thing is happening up here in Oregon too. it's... it's hellish.

I'm actually in Oregon too! Just all the friends I know dealing with this kind of shit are in CA.

SOON ALL OF CALIFORNIA WILL KNOW THE GENDER OF MY CHILD

(I imagine it went something like that)

I'm on the coast of California, and it's even ashy and gray here. Usually coastal winds keep the worst of it at bay, but it's just that bad.

I hope everyone closer to the fires can stay safe.

Well, there's only one song I can think to play at a time like this:

Stay safe.

It's all fucking terrifying. Stay safe out there please.

It’s a time~

...man, I wonder about people sometimes. Who the fuck thought that every single thing here needed downvoting? OH BOY, I'M SO SORRY THAT MY STATE IS ON FIRE???? WHY DOES THAT OFFEND YOU?
