"Sounds like Mommy issues to me," I quipped, enjoying myself thoroughly as she stood there, completely powerless to do a thing about it.
Twilight sniffed and gave me a blank look, but her emotions betrayed her as they filled with air around me.
She was angry. Very, very angry.
"Mommy issues?" she echoed, her blank facade crumbling for a moment. "I haven't seen my dear Mother in fifteen years while my dear brother gets to see her every weekend. Is that a Mommy issue?"
"Sounds like it to me," I chuckled, her anger filling me faster and faster as I laughed at her. "Sounds to me like even Mommy doesn't love poor little Twilight. My heart bleeds for you."
She stared at me impotently, her mask all but shattered as she clearly fought back tears.
"Are you crying?" I snarked, grinning widely. "Dear me, and here I thought you were a robot, what with that lack of empathy thing you have going on."
She shook her head and blinked the tears away, her anger shifting into something I couldn't understand as she smiled at me.
"I don't need anypony," she declared, her eyes dilated. "I have Princess Celestia. She loves me and that's all I need."
More of the emotion sifted into me, but I didn't understand what it was.
'It feels like love...but it isn't romantic. What is it?'
"Cadance must be heartbroken," I chuckled, enjoying her flinch. "We had a little heart to heart you know. Got a few things out in the open, she's really quite a nice Pony. Why, we could even be friends in the future. Now wouldn't that be nice?"
Anger returned, pounding against me ever so nicely.
"She wouldn't understand," Twilight replied, making to walk past me albeit slowly. "I care for her as I do for Shining, but they would never understand. And she would never be friends with you."
"What do you know about friendship?" I snorted. "You have no friends."
"I have Princess Celestia," she replied, the exact same tone, word for word as she had done earlier. "She loves me and that's all I need."
The strange emotion returned...and this time I stayed quiet.
For although I didn't know what the emotion was. The sheer nature...the feel of it made me very uncomfortable.
Zelous obsession. Would she give up on it her life would end. Celestia has indeed a tool that would go any length for her...

I think the emotion is lovesick. Which means to be in love, or missing the person one loves, so much that one is unable to act normally.

Let's see if she stays the 'princess of friendship' after this. We have yet to see any of her friends and we can clearly see she it brainwashed to love Celestia. I'm starting to think Twilight is going to lose it and do something stupid.

According to Chrissy and Twi, Twilight doesn’t have friends in this AU. Also, Twilight is still a unicorn.

To me this is clearly not an obsession regarding Twilights behaviour. While for the most part, all of the comments in this section are saying is that it seems that she is obsessed and has some obsessive traits, but this goes far beyond just being obsessed.
Twilight has become completely dependant on Celestia, making her unable to do anything that Celestia doesn’t want or is interested in doing. Thanks to his very dangerous and toxic mentality, there are almost no lines that Twilight isn’t willing to break if it means pleasing Celestia.
She already tried drugging/poisoning Chrysalis, making her go feral.
When Chrysalis, disguised as Chrissy ignored the letter written by Celestia stating just how important he is to their survival, Twilight states that Chrissy threw the letter to Celestia and her, making it very obvious that she has a big sense of grandeur just because she is Celestias protégée.
When Twilight sent an entire battalion to capture Chrysalis and Richard, she genuinely thought that no one could love Chrysalis, and even wanted to caress Richards cheek, only for him to “lash out” stating moments later that his love for Chrysalis is a “fake love” and that she will “help him see the truth”.
If, by any chance, Celestia is removed from the picture (temporally or permanently)
