A tale I'm sure we all know quite well... · 10:52am Jun 20th, 2020
Aha! It’s finally complete! Now to just hit ‘Publish’ and...
Oh. Well. That paragraph does seem a little awkward, doesn’t it? Let me just tighten that up a bit.
Now to hit ‘Publish’ and...
Wait, is that a typo? Wups. Better go over everything again. Hm, this part does seem a little vague. Lemme fix that. Oh, and all these thoughts should go in reverse order. Well, except for that one. Which means a whole new round of smoothing that out for flow. Wait, does that character’s motivation seem clear? And in that other part I overstated things, now that I look at it...
Yea, apparently this is my life now. Meanwhile, I have pages of stuff I typed up at work over the last few weeks that I still need to transcribe and edit.
In other words: now that I’ve reached the bottom of the hole I know the perfect means of escape.

That is what I find works best, yes. The words that flow onto the page usually sound better than the ones I butcher into place, so I usually only proofread and fix errors before publishing.
Mm-hmm. Yep.

On rare occasions, I do find that works best for me. The rest of the time, yeah... much of my writing is rewriting. Especially moving things about so that they possess a chronological cause-and-effect pattern that someone besides me will follow.
Maybe that’s just because all my brain parts are egghead parts. Sure. That sounds like a sufficiently awesome
excusereason. I’ll go with that.
