it seems like a lot of pain to manage but apparently all the patreon peoples are doing one

we mostly find the ones we're in to be overly quiet but also a good way to get updates on artist content

Whatever feels best. You can get bots to partially moderate for you, e.g. if someone tries to say something terrible or spam it can do the punishments for you. But ofc they aren't perfect. That said, hopefully you don't need much moderation there, lol.

I think a Discord would be a good idea, but it's something you have to actively manage and use to stay engaged with readers and patrons, not just something to throw up there and forget about.
