Howdy, y’all. So a long time ago I made an audiobook for Looking Glass. I finally got around to cleaning it up, and I posted the whole thing on YouTube so people don’t need to download it or listen to it off Google Drive. And there’s a lot more coming up as well.
A friend of mine who doesn’t read much expressed interest in listening to my audiobooks on her daily commute to and from work, which reinvigorated my interest in recording them. I’ve recorded, edited, and posted By Blood or Choice on Youtube now, and I plan to work my way through WWB. This is a huge undertaking, but I’m known for doing excessive things to get just a few more readers (or listeners, in this case). So yeah, that’s a thing if audiobooks are your jam. For anyone who does listen, I’d appreciate a comment to let me know my efforts weren’t in vain.
But while I was working on it, I got to thinking. While the editing is a chore, I rather like recording these things. So I’m doing something I haven’t seen done before, of which there’s almost certainly no market for, and offering to do them on a commission basis. I’m thinking $1 per 500 words of reading, all properly cleaned and edited to be free of unwanted sounds. If you’ve got a longer project you’re interested in having recorded, I also added a $15 tier on my Patreon in which I’ll do 10k words per month (so it’s a savings off the normal commission price, plus you’d get early access to my stories). I’ll record almost anything, MLP or otherwise, clop if you want it (I lowkey hope no one wants it, I can’t imagine recording clop...), probably a no on certain fetishes but you could always PM me about whatever it is and I’ll let you know.
I fully expect no one will be interested in this, but hey, it can’t hurt to throw it out there. And in case anyone is thinking the rate is high, it took me like four hours to do 5k worth of words today, which would cost $10 at this rate. $10 for four hours of work is abysmal, I’m just that poor lmao.
But speaking of which, hey, I actually did record a story today! Was done via Patreon for Darkstarling, a friend and long time supporter of mine. I read his story Changing History, which is a fantastic story of about Daring Do on a mission from Celestia to save the fate of the changelings. Amazing characterizations, incredibly fun narration, great banter, I fucking love this story, y’all. Listen to the audio version here, or check below for the Fimfiction embed.
Also while we’re at it, consider giving my YouTube a follow, I’ll be posting more audiobooks there, both of my own stories and of other people’s (I have at least two patrons to record for every month now). Next up I’ll be recording The Mare in the Warp by my writing partner Wendy Gowak (which is among my favorite stories on all of Fimfiction) so stay tuned for that

Making my way through the LG audio book. Loving it and gonna love it even more when I get to my fav chapter right next to the end, and I see is split into two parts (understandable as not even the power of youtube cam hold that much emotion and brilliance in one video).

I could’ve left Another Way in one video, YouTube doesn’t restrict the length (as far as I know anyway) but it felt like a better idea to split it into two parts when I made it. Anyway though, I’m very glad to hear you’re enjoying it, it was a big project and it’s nice to hear people like the results
