    New Story out now!

Hey everyone! Remember that thing I said I'd be doing a while back? Well... Here it is!

    Hey guys! What's new?

So, I haven't been here in a good long while. I got the writing itch a while back, specifically for ponies and my old Betaverse fics. I might have something in the pipeline. I've got a few questions I'd like to ask the general pony-reading audience if you don't mind. Just so I can see if my writing style should be tweaked a bit for the modern audience.

    Stardrop's Lackluster Ending

Hello everyone. I know I've been away for a while, but that's due to me deciding to finish stories before I post them to revise, edit, and alter them to give you all better stories to read. I don't feel free to do so when I post stories live. This results in me getting frustrated with how a story is shaping up and then dropping it. That wasn't a problem when I was younger, but it's become one as

Anyone know artists who do illistrations for stories?

I'm low key working on a story which I intend to complete before posting. I'm enjoying being able to go back and improve, tweak, and change things to make the best possible version of the story, and it's nice to not feel like I am bound to a strict schedule of uploads.

A metatextual analisis of "The Bureau: XCOM Declassified" to show how it fits in the series timelines

A lot of people like the rebooted XCOM series, and a lot of people also insist its lore is bad/nonexistent. This isn't true in my opinion, but is the product of the game that sets up the world for the series having been released a year after the first game in the series as a prequel, and also it sucks ass to play. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is not a good game. At all. The story is really good,

Orgional fiction / I made a personal website · 1:26pm Jan 27th, 2020

After a lot of thinking, I came to a realization.

I'm not relay having fun writing ponyfic anymore. I have done a TON of it. 1-2 chapters a week, every week, for... /me checks < Member Since 19th Jan, 2015 > Oh gosh, nearly 5 strait years! That's a lot of ponywords.

No wonder I kept getting bord with what I was doing. I may have the autistic superpower of "love the shit out of things and rarely get tired of them" but I do have my limits. Maybe if I wrote other things between writing ponyfics I wouldn't feel so... board with them. But I didn't, and I do.

But I still love writing! I can say that with certainty as I have sat down to write something orgional and had just as much fun with it as I did my first few published fanfics. The only problem with that was... Well... I honestly couldn't find a site I like to post stuff that dosn't have ponies in it.

So I made my own.

Behold: https://www.meepkashiclibrary.net/

A website for all of my shit. It's got every one of my fanfics available in epub form, not the crappy epubs you can get from this site's download function either, but very nice ones created via a tool the Fallout Equestria print project guys use. It's got a list of every one of the writing help books I have ever found useful and worth the money. It's got a list of helpful programs for writers. It's got downloads for free programs I made for helping with writing and running tabletop RPGs.

Soon it will have a lot of my work on it that's not pony related, like a lot of my game settings and things like that which are all written up. But more importantly, it's got a story on it! Or at least 2 chapters of one.

What's the story about? Well...

Overview

After a successful mission, Liz (aka the superheroine Xenocycle), realizes she can't face another news cycle which rakes her name through the mud. Desperate to escape the cycle of dishonest journalists, politics rooted editorializing, and blatant lies, Liz agrees to assist an AI by taking a backup module into a parallel dimension in order to maximize the AI's chances of long-term survival. Taking full advantage of the opportunity to spend some time on a world without superheros, Liz elects to make use of her powers as a shapechanger to blend in and take a vacation on the other dimension's much more mundane Earth.

Unbeknownst to Liz, the supervillain whose dimension jumping technology the AI stole escaped prison and set up shop on the very Earth Liz just arrived upon decades ago as part of a plan to construct a base of operations no hero could ever discover. Even worse, the dimension jump can only be preformed during a very specific time of the month. The only backup Liz can have is friends she makes in the new world...

That!

Fair warning, this story isn't written under the restrictions I had on my ponyfics. It can be as dark as I want when it needs to be dark. It can handle adult subject matters, though I don't think any of you guys would find it objectionable. It can have erotica in it, and it will at certain points (But I will post those in separate chapters so they can be skipped by prudes). It's not bound to use pre-existing worldbuilding, so I am free to make my own setting entirely and, well, I'm all about that worldbuilding.

Now, I know that superhero stuff is kinda at an all time high right now. BUT... This is a deconstruction of sorts. Less focus is placed on the "being a hero" and more on the "what kind of person would be a hero?" and "How would the world really work if super powers were real?" Also, it's a "Another world" story where the protagonist not only can go home (almost) at will but actually WANTS to be there and is just trying to have a good time. So that's fairly unique, IMO.

Two chapters are currently available, and my current editor is on board for this project so it's more polished than I could do alone. I hope you give it a try and I see you in the comments :3

Sounds interesting!

Well now, that synopsis piqued my interest, will definitely have to check it out.

I have some superhero-related stories locked within my mind. Can I post some pieces on your website too, or is it just a private account?

Interesting idea ;)

Seems interesting :trixieshiftright:

5192923 It's just a personal site for now. If I can find a way to make an accounts system and the like I may make a section for others to post stuff too.

I look forward to it. God, I wish more writers here would do something like this.

"what kind of person would be a hero?"

The answer might surprise you

Will probably check it out when I have the time.

5192967 It's not hard, and it's free if you are okay with your site having a URL like " sites.google.com/898034/<YOUR NAME HERE> "

If you can, an rss feed would be awesome.

5193000 I dont know if I can do RSS, but I have a mailing list you can subscribe to :3

Well hopefully that might help you to get you interested in pony fics again one day, i am kinda here for those but i wish you luck with your original stories.

5193439 I'll likly get back to them :3 Still like pones.

Finally found time to read the first chapter and I already love this.

Will you be adding new chapters to Operations Stardrop on your website or is this the end of the series?

5200364 If/when I write them, they will go here and the epub hosted on my site will be updated to the more recent version, as the fanfic on my site is just an archive in case this site poofs.

Thx was too impatient >.<

Admittedly, my experience with superhero stories is limited (or perhaps I should say "blessed" :P) to be Worm (and Worm+MLP is even better :D), but this might be interesting to read. (who am I kidding--you wrote it... It's assuredly awesome)

Do you have non-exe versions of the other programs that you haven't misplaced the source for? I run Linux most of the time. The original python's fine; I can run that easily.
-----------------
Perhaps you'd know, but how is it that people publish fan works (I mean as actual books to be sold, rather than not-for-profit epub or online copies) without getting the banhammer of IP dropped on them? I can't seem to find an answer on this, and anything I've seen only seems to discourage it. Is there an approval process or some method that makes it safer, or is it simply that no one important notices?

5310967 Batch can be interpreted by python easily enough apparently! Here's some instructions. YOu'll have to make your own python scripts to run them but it should be easy as changing the file path in the commands.
