Sooooo... · 10:25pm Dec 18th, 2019
The Rise of Skywalker has a 58% on Rotten Tomatoes. That's low enough to land it squarely in the "Rotten" category, and putting it just 5 points about The Phantom Menace's 53%.
And I'm actually kind of conflicted now.
See, on the one hand, my sadistic Sith-lord side wants to be all like "Haha! You see, Sequel-lovers?! I told you it would all crash and burn!!!"
But then again...well, I was really hyped for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and it got a 41% on RT, and I love it regardless. So I don't feel like I can do the above in good conscience without feeling like a hypocrite.
So what I guess I'm trying to say is...I told you so, but the Rotten Tomatoes score doesn't matter anyway. It'll be okay.
But I still told you so.
*pats Sequel-loving follower's backs reassuringly.*
[UPDATE: Added a meme because I'm evil.]
And Spies in Disguise has a 81%...
There's also reportedly a lot of fanservice in it, something TLJ didn't have. Not only that, this is the critic's vote, not the popular vote, and besides, TLJ got over 90% on RT. So... Yeah.
I'm just hoping they don't kill off Ben. Because that would be lazy and a waste of a good character. Are you writing this down, Disney?
I just knew ROS would suck so... I don't care about the ratings. XD
But yes my sith fellow friend..join me in evil laughter.
All I have to say is "NO SPOILERS! "

Don't worry; I may be an evil, sinful mess of a human being, but I'm not that evil.
All I can say is that it’s too early to be seeing the results the film got so far. I mean, come on, it hasn’t been released in theaters yet, so what place can anyone have when there’s no results from moviegoers?

Is that the one where Tom Holland turns Will Smith into a pigeon? (and I never thought that would be a thing that I type down)
5171415
Lol, yep. I'm actually looking forward to that actually 😋
5171379
Yeah, something like that. 91% critic scores, if I recall correctly.

Also, just saying, in my experience, the Audience Score is a more honest about where people stand on a given movie. Most of the time. I quit RT after the Godzilla fiasco.
5171428
Hahahahahahahaha!
5171415
Bruh that was such a stupid.movie it was brilliant
5171393
Carrie Fisher is dead.
5171429
When you see the thing you like onscreen, you might smile or say, "Hey, I see that!" and then move on. But looking back, it can feel forced in.
That movie was the swift kick in the nuts we all needed. I'm glad it got people pissed off. Those guys couldn't see it. That film freaking ruled!
5171443
He's talking about The Last Jedi y'know.
5171444
Mwu ha ha ha ha ha!
You want to talk about bad states of media? Have you seen this footage of Star Trek Discovery?
If you got mad at TLJ, this is a thousand times worse.
5171451
Oh, believe me, I know, Brady. I oughta' know, I've been a Trekkie since practically birth. Literally the only really good thing about Discovery is the redesign of the USS Enterprise. It's actually a half-way decent visual upgrade. It's just a pity that it flies completely in the face of established lore.

See, one of the many problems with Discovery is that it's supposed to take place in the 2250s, but as much as I like the Discoprise design, that is not what the Enterprise is supposed to look like at that time. It's supposed to look something like this:

I will say this in The Last Jedi's defense; for all the problems I had with the movie, irrevocably screwing up the established historical and visual canon is not one of them.
...Well, I think that’s enough Star Wars fandom for me. Gotta say, it was real fun meeting up with y'all again and gushing over Baby Yoda for these past few weeks—really reminded me why I loved this place circa 2015. But, well, if you're all going to go back to taking turns calling each other Nazis and SJWs and haters and fanboys and whatever other insults you have lying around by this time next week, I think I'll just take this opportunity to step out again. Here's hoping you'll all have chilled out by the time Clone Wars Season 7 comes out in February.
(Disclaimer: I am not mad at you.)
5171457
I don't think it's quite gotten to that point yet. Here's hoping it doesn't.
5171415
I can't NOT mentally replace those names with Spider-man and Steve Hiller. The mental image that produces is ... interesting.
5171454
I have just one question to ask you regarding Star Trek:
How exactly do you often feel living with the fact that Gene Roddenberry, the series’s creator, was a Jesus-hating atheist?
5171457
There's a new clone wars season coming out!? How have I not heard of this!? Please, tell me when!
5171644
February 2020 I believe is the date, you can google it if you need a citation.
5171621
There are a lot of things that I like that were made by atheists. It doesn't really bother me unless the shows try to rub it in your face.
5171644
5171664
Wait, for real? I thought that series was dead or something.
5171709
I was just wondering.
I think Roddenberry’s a visionary and imaginative person, but his atheism and stand against any sort of religion...well, it kind of rubs me off the wrong way at times.
5171719
i did too
5171758
By the way, how's your Trek marathon going?
5171820
In the middle of Season 2.
It may take me longer than I thought to finish the series and review it.
5171828
Take all the time you need.
Which episode are you on?
5171719
It was, until Disney realised it could bring in the moneys.
