Picked up Tom King's Superman: Up In The Sky back in January and it very quickly became one of my new top favorites in my collection.
So, uh...the Star Wars sequels. Pretty hot button topic already. I'll admit to not being their biggest fan, but also not really their biggest detractor either. One of my critiques has been that the First Order ended up just being The Empire 2.0...but recently I did some thinking about them and even Palpatine's return in The Rise of Skywalker. And between the critiques that can be made about its overall handling, I think that there's actually a really good, and particularly resonant, lesson that
I sometimes listen to music while working on my writing. One of my go-to sources while working on Stallion of Tomorrow's been The Prince of Egypt's score, and the other day out of curiosity I wondered if there was a version in Ukrainian.
There is, and it hits so hard.
And so another year draws to a close, taking its share of ups and downs with it as it steps aside for the new. It’s been another long year, but we made it again.
As long as we keep looking up and moving forward, it can be as good a year as we want it to be. It won’t be perfect, of course. The world’s still a mess as always and there’s still things that need fixing and choices to be made. But what’s a new year if not a fresh new chance?

Finally was able to round out the Death and Return of Superman arc for my comics collection, plus got Volume 1 of the Rebirth Action Comics run. Pretty happy, all in all.
