I am back. A lot of you, especially my new followers I got in the last couple days (thank you for joining me here despite the inactivity!) are probably thinking I am dead and that I became a victim of the end of the show. That is not the case and I am now back and ready to tackle more writing than ever. I have been mostly absent for almost six weeks now since the release of "Hero" and a ton of things happened in those weeks. I am going to talk about that, some recent developments outside and inside the fandom and next writing plans below the page break (or, at least where I would really like to have the page break).
I gotta start with the most important thing. After hard work, a lot of sweat and emotionally-saturated talks, I can now say with relief that my friend has returned and our friendship is in good shape again. I have talked about what broke us apart a while ago. All these issues are fixed now. She was very hesitant at first and only slowly opened up to me again and I needed to put in an exceptional amount of assurances and explanations to regain her trust. In the end it worked. I have her back and both of us have our friendship back that we cherished so much before the problems started. Almost exactly one month ago now, our friendship has started standing on secure hooves again and has returned to the harmony and passion that defines it, all of it sealed in a joined Minecraft adventure. She is back. And this has also given me my spirit back. My spirit, my drive, my will to live, rather than just to survive, and my energy. There are numerous reasons why I haven't been writing for almost six weeks now. Grief over the end of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, saying goodbye to all my ponies I love and to Equestria (albeit only a temporary goodbye), coping with the end, reacting to COPPA and dealing with a dramatic person giving me trouble. But the biggest reason, and the most important one, is enjoying and cherishing the newfound friendship with the one person on this planet who I truly and deeply care about. Spending one and a half months without writing to reignite everything that sparked and fueled our friendship was a time worth spent and I do not regret a single second of this time.
And now, the moment has come to return here and to make writing an integral and balanced part of my daily structure and life again. And not just my life anymore, of her life as well, now. I also want to talk about COPPA, and there is a lot I have to say about it, but this will happen later. Now, I am going to talk about what is the second-most important in my life: Writing. Now that I have returned, I will set my eyes back on "Dreamwalker Dash", on "Letters to Cozy Glow", on "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth". I have also plans for more stories inspired by Season 9, and will work on them on the weekends, and I am also working on a large Hearth's Warming Eve story for this year. I will release another blog entry to announce and tease this story in a few hours. I have some bad news on the front of "A Storm on the Horizon of the Arcane World", this story had to go through another unexpected hiatus and it will only return for good (with a revamped and better version of Chapter 1) at the beginning of January, but it will continue, as well. My only reason to worry about my upcoming writing is the fate and future perception of "Dreamwalker Dash". With my unreliability in updating it, so far, you all probably think that the story is dead and most of you have probably lost interest in the story by now. I will continue it regardless of that, though, because I have some of the greatest plans ever for this story and I hope that as many of you as possible will be along for the ride once the chapter releases pick up again.
I have now prepared a new sorted list of my writing plans for the coming months. Earlier this year, in Summer, I have released a similar list. But this new list will now replace it and overrule the previous, old list. For an easy overview of my upcoming writing, look at the list below to see what is in store from me.
"Dreamwalker Dash" will be worked on again starting tomorrow. I will finish the remaining revision, then proceed with rewriting Chapter 4 (because the current version really sucks) and then all-new chapters. I will work on this story twice a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the release of new chapters will happen once a week on Wednesdays. I will give you prior notice when the revision is nearing its completion and another notice before the next new chapter drops.
"Letters to Cozy Glow" will pick up releases again next week. Previous chapters have been released on Fridays, but new chapters will get released on Thursdays from now on. Since each letter will likely still be under 1,000 words for quite some time, I aim for writing a complete letter on the same day as the release of it. I will give you reminders for the return of the story in the coming days.
My plans for this story have changed. As some of you will remember, I said that I will continue this story on Wednesday after the Finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic aired, to offer a seamless transition into my version of a Generation 5 sequel. I have since then realized that it will not be possible to have Episode 3 ready for this day. Because each chapter is supposed to mimic an actual episode as close as possible, there goes a large amount of planning and measuring into writing it, to ensure that each chapter would fit into a 22 minutes timeframe. It would also be next to impossible to have one episode ready each week due to that. To give myself enough time to prepare this fan-made sequel of mine, I will wait until Spring and start releasing it on Saturday, April 18th, 2020, with one new episode each Saturday as it is familiar to us and as we love it. During this time, I will be able to come up with a rough outline for the entire show and to write 26 episodes for the entire first season. My initial attempt to write this sequel that is linked above will be marked as "Complete" and the first two episodes that are already there will get reworked into new and final versions. Once the release draws closer, I will have reminders and promotions for you.
This story has suffered a lot from delays and interruptions. It will continue like this for a little while longer, unfortunately, but releases will pick up again in January. Until then, I want to try out different methods of promoting it in hopes that the initial interest in it returns. The current Chapter 1 will get rewritten and be replaced with a longer and better version in January. I still intend to follow the same pattern with this story; working on new chapters on the last two weekends of each month always on Friday and Sunday and to release a new chapter on the first Sunday of each month. I will start working on it again on December 27th. The release of the revamped and improved Chapter 1 will be on January 5th.
"Filed Away" has not seen any updates after I wrote and published the prologue in 2015 after "Party Pooped" aired during Season 5. But I will finally work on this story again after nearly five years since I started it. The idea of a dark secret being stashed away in Pinkie Pie's party cave has fascinated me right from the start and the plan was always to continue this story one day. And now the time has almost come. I will resume working on this story on January 10th. The prologue will get rewritten to reflect my increased writing skill I acquired in the years since the initial publication. I can't give a definite release date for the new prologue yet, but I will aim for 2 - 3 chapters each month. I will write new chapters on Fridays and Sundays and will alternate between working on this story and on "A Storm on the Horizon of the Arcane World". Once I know when the prologue will be published, I will give you a reminder for the re-release of it.
Once "Filed Away" is completed, the Fridays and Sundays I worked on it will be used to work on "Journeys and Destinations: A Friendship for Eternity". This story is even older and has seen more hardships and setbacks than you can imagine since I started it almost six years ago, during Season 4 after "Twilight Time" aired. The concept for it is heavily outdated now, but I have collected grand ideas for it over the years and I hope to make it work and that I can garner new interest in a story that is set years ago, when Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle didn't have their cutie marks yet, and in which their lives will take a drastically different turn from what we have seen in the show. Giving a release date is still impossible right now, but I will inform you about the progress once I resumed working on it.
I could not write any updates for "The Marvelous, Life-Changing Discoveries of Silverstream, the Hippogriff" yet since I started the story on April 1st. Unlike with other stories, this is not a delay, as this story does not have a specific release schedule and will see new chapters whenever time allows or inspiration strikes. It will likely remain without updates for a few more months, but might pick up pace once "My Little Pony: Guardians of Crystal Growth" starts releasing. I will keep you informed and if I have a new chapter ready, I will give you a reminder a few days in advance.
