So as it turns out, Princess Twilight Sparkle never pursued any romances with ponies because her heart was stolen away by a human. No, not Flash Sentry-You! The infamous Anon! And after some misadventures, you two are now having your first child! Will it be a pony? A human? Or some kind of horrible abomination?

As it turns out, Equestria runs on Greek mythology rules of interspecies breeding, and the natural conclusion of the human/pony pairing is... A centaur. A centaur with access to the magic of the Equestrians, with human hands and ingenuity. A perfect hybrid.
But if humans and ponies flipped over discovering eachother's worlds, the revelation that they can breed a race of hybrids with the advantages of both species is going to be an even bigger bombshell! But that's just one problem in the new life of parenthood. Good luck buddy! You'll need it!
Seriously though, why aren't there more centaur children in human/pony stories? It seems natural given all the Greek mythology references, and centaurs can be cute: Ridiculously cute. Imagine the challenges this child would face growing up, a symbol of the union of two worlds but struggling to fit in.

Depends on if Tirek is a true centaur or a demon in the rough shape of a centaur. Then again this is what his father apparently looks like.

Maybe because a Centaur is like a pony with it's head replaced by a human torso. And that's kind of terrifying.
Imagine a human but with it's hear replaced by the upper half of a pony.

Well that would be part of the challenge of the children. They look like monsters to ponies, but not to humans. Well, they look weird to humans but not as scary as they would be to ponies.

Yes, they could fly. And it would be a difficult spell to perform on a regular basis unless the centaur or her pony parent was a powerful, well trained magic user. Hence the conflict.

Another idea I've seen is for the kids to be classical satyrs -- human from the waist up but their legs are equine, ending in hooves.

Yeah, I've always preferred the pony satyr thing. It just seems more logical since humans and ponies both have 1 torso and 4 limbs(not counting tails), while Centaurs have 2 torsos and 6 limbs.
Granted I am applying logic to human and magical pony hybrids, but still.
