Interview with Dragomir
“Alright, now tell me my dear friend, what inspired your username?
Response: I stole this username directly from a series of books I read once. They really weren’t even good books- some obscenely long series called the Vampire Diaries. Could have been worse. I liked the name, took it, and it just stuck.
“What drew you into Mlp?
Response: Definitely my friend, Usernamehere. I met him several years ago on Steam forums, and we immediately hit it off. We’re still best friends and he was a brony, so I just got into it because he liked it and again, it stuck. At the time I was mildly troubled so I needed a new source of happiness, and this is a little girl’s cartoon literally about friendship. It worked.
“Who is your favorite pony and why?
Response: Twilight Sparkle. I identify really hard with Twiggles for a long and varied list of reasons: the color purple, lack of friends until someone happens to get metaphorically shoved into you by an adult, brilliance (although definitely more on her side of the scale) and severe social awkwardness.
“Favorite episode and why?”
Response: That’s a hard one. Probably Gauntlet of Fire. That was one of the first episodes I watched, because it happened to be what Discovery Family was running on that particular Saturday. I remember thinking it was a Season 1 episode. Why? It’s an actual adventure story with dragons. You can’t screw up dragons. Unless you’re writing Eragon. But yeah, gauntlet of craziness + hawt dragon princess + Spike, who’s more of a bipedal salamander at the time than he is a dragon = chaos. And chaos is good.
“What inspires you to write?”
Response: There is no inspiration for me to write. I just do it because I have nothing better to do. It’s a decent creative outlet because I can write literally whatever I want, and even if it’s flaming garbage nobody cares.
“Tell us about a story that inspires you to write. It doesn’t have to be mlp specifically!”
Four specific people- my eighth grade English teacher, Jules Verne, Ray Bradbury, and Kurt Vonnegut. I don’t know why I liked my English teacher, but I had to write a paper for that class once and I kind of enjoyed it. Ray, Kurt, and Jules have all written really good works- Fahrenheit 451, literally all of his books, and Journey to the Center of the Earth respectively- that I aspire to emulate.
“Give us the background of the author! Tell us all about you. Well in a short summary.
Response: I’m just beginning high school- I’m an avid reader of books, player of video games, and a budding politico. I aspire to one day run for President of the United States (and hopefully win). However, right now I’m struggling to keep my A in honors Chemistry and figure out how to interact with women.
“What is one thing mlp has taught you?”
Having friends is actually kind of worth it, for emotional support and partners in crime.
“Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Response: Go to trade school. It’s good for you.
