When I got my request for Jinglemas, I was like Sunset and Twilight, pretty easy. BUT then I was like How can I make this unique? And add in a little bit of teasing. I looked and read quite a lot of SunTwi stories and had my first idea of a Christmas Market, where Sunset would tease Twilight about all the many gifts she would get her for Hearth's Warming, ,and then I was like "No, surely someone has done that!"
And then for some reason, my mind went to Ice Skating and I was like "Hmm..." Why would Twilight who isn't good at sports want to ice skate? And she agrees to learn because she loves her gf and would do anything for her, but isn't well great at connecting the complexity of ice skating, and getting totally flustered by her girlfriend being the one to teach her.
It was a lot of fun to figure it out, while hitting my head against a wall to make sure I wasn't too "telly" as that's a critique I've been given on previous works so much that it can make writing very difficult for me.
I hope my giftee likes it, but if you want to take a look at it, go ahead. It's like the only story I published this year...
