Looking Back, and Looking Forward · 12:59am Sep 25th, 2019

Hello all,

I'm going to start by being honest with y'all. Case Eleven is not my best work, and I'm aware of it. I've been struggling a lot with it, and am not entirely happy with everything in it: there's a few elements I wish I handled better and some things I had to cut for time that I regret not doing. Not too long ago, I was seriously considering just deleting the entire case and starting over again from the top, but I ultimately decided that it would be easier to press forward, finish the case, and try to let it go.

I have made one fairly minor edit to Chapter Four regarding Spike's injuries. As originally published, he would be left with aphasia, but I decided to scrub that idea because I realized I didn't know where to go with it from there (not entirely sure where that idea came from anyway...). I've since downgraded it a bit, and have a clearer idea on where to go from there.

I've also had some time to think, and I realized that a big part of the reason I was struggling with Case Eleven was because I hadn't taken the time to properly plan the story out or write more chapters ahead of time: if I had, I might've caught some of the errors in time to change the story. Not much that can be done about it now, but there's a lesson here.

And now, here's what's going to happen in the future. Case Eleven will be finished in three weeks. After that, Kriegspiel will be going on a brief hiatus so that I have time to more thoroughly plan Case Twelve out and make sure I have all my bases covered, and write chapters ahead of time to give myself a safety net. This is the big finale to Volume Two, and I really want to make sure I get it right for my readers.

I hope that you understand and are looking forward to the continuing adventures of Phillip Finder and Daring Do! Later!

Josiah

EDIT: When I said three, I meant four. My bad.

I always eagerly await any new chapter from you. I haven't noticed anything wrong with case eleven, though of course I'm broken hearted about poor Twilight and Spike.

Take your time and finish this the way you want it finished. Sometimes we get impatient, but we all know that rushing a story can ruin it.

Keep up the good work!

Seems like a plan.

Just want to say I'm enjoying your work immensely!

Thank you! That means a lot!

Heh, don't a worry...you're all good, some times things don't work out exactly the way ya want.
