“Alright, now tell me my dear friend, what inspired your username?
Response:
My Mother claimed she had a dream that had my name in it. Yes, it's true, I was named as fanon claims many ponies were named. That name's initial works out to DM. I was literally destined to become what I am! Mua ha ha ha ha ha ha, ahem.
“What drew you into Mlp?
Response:
As it turns out, I like cartoons. Cartoons with talking animals? Bonus points. I heard about the new MLP and heart it was actually not bad and gave it a viewing back in season 1 and that was that.
“Who is your favorite pony and why?
Response:
I will cheat here, since there are two ponies that resonate with me. Twilight's intellectualism appeals, and her desire to understand and approach the world logically. Rarity, not for appearance, not for fashion (Ha), but for being a self-employed entrepreneur whose struggles are often my own. I can see myself in those white hooves.
“Favorite episode and why?”
Response:
Oh dear. Specific episodes all become mush in my mind, to be distilled and blended to create fanfics. I don't tend to have a 'favorite episode'. This is likely not the answer you wanted, sorry. I can say Spike at Your Service is the worst one though. Such trash. Most of the rest had something worth smiling about.
“What inspires you to write?”
Response:
I do what I must because I can. I have been writing for a long time, it's a thing I can do, so I do it. These days I get paid to do it, which helps get the bills covered, but I still enjoy doing it, and I do it.
“Tell us about your favorite story, and why it inspires you to write. It doesn't have to be mlp specifically!”
Response:
Um. Ooo, Aaaa, Mmmmm! See my answer on favorite episodes… I reach out with wide hands to grab bits of inspiration from everything from Isaac Asimov's formative works to absurd Xanth tales. Even current anime is adding to my great pool of stuff to draw from. Remember, there is nothing new under the sun, but we sure can make novel takes on it with a bit of effort.

Hi! I'm David Silver, creator of Ponyfinder, writer of literally millions of words on FimFic, let me check… 3,398,673 words, lord save my soul and here's to another few million yeah? I started on this site with a crossover of Ponyfinder/MLP and went right into a year spanning self-insert glorious mess of a soap opera that is still updating by popular demand, oi.
“With Mlp coming to an end, tell us one thing you have learned from your experiences, and how it has helped you to grow?
Response:
The show may end, but my writing will not. People still want their stories, and I plan to give it to them. MLP put me in the place to start making my own RPG products and then to become a published writer of something people really want to buy physically, and then a publisher, so thanks MLP!
“Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Response:
If you think you can't write, the only answer is to write more. This is true of anything on this round planet. Don't let anyone tell you you just 'can't' do something. If you want to, you can, that's it. Just get to work, learn, repeat, expect to suck, a lot, forever. You'll be old and grey and still convinced you suck but you keep right on going and iterating over and over and oh god why! And you did it, you're a writer, or an artist, or anything else. As the memes say, Just Do It.
