Hey all!
Those of you who know me know that I'm not the biggest on asking the pony community for money... ever. Mainly because I don't want to tie monetary gain/loss directly to my personally-centering recreational activities and/or my creative freedom/sense of worth my psyche just isn't able to handle that sort of thing yet I have no idea what'll happen when I become a real published fiction writer but that's future Bookish's problem I guess. Like, I asked for donations once ever, y'all were rad about it, aaaaaaaand I only did it because at the time it was a matter of life and death.
So, yeah, similar energy here

Some of you longtime readers may remember nanashi_jones, author of Scootaloo, Where Are Your Parents?, which in 2014 rocked the site so hard that the Hasbro spies thought it was a good enough idea to make mostly canon I'm only up to S09E09 as of this writing spoil me any more than google already has while I was looking for that link and you will lose your ability to feel things
However, Nanashi was also my story editor all the way up to and through Being Juniper Montage. So, that fic? Lulamoon's Castle? That time Moondancer broke your soul? Nearly all my pre-MCU EG fic including Courage and Change? Yeah. You've got her to thank.
Nanashi and her kickass wife have a dog, Phouka (pictured above) who is part of the family and who has literally come down with... well, butt cancer. Yes, actual cancer has manifested in this dog's keister. No, none of us really saw this as a likely thing. Their pet insurance doesn't cover something this extreme, and thus things like chemo/actual helpful surgery would have to be paid out of pocket. The alternative... well, you all know the alternative.
Thus, a gofundme has been set up, which you can find here. If you have a tiny bit of cash to help save a lifelong family member and friend, they'd greatly appreciate it, as would I to be honest. I don't know where I'd be without these people I'm talking about right now. Goal's a modest $2K, which they've managed to make it a quarter of the way to already. Goal is $4k because Healthcare Systems, but honestly they're just overjoyed people are donating at all and hardly expect to make the whole thing off the backs of others.
Whatever you can give is fine, this is NOT a competition (I say this because give totals show up on that page), if you have nothing to spare but well-wishes, those are also totally welcome.
(There's also the part where Nanashi's trying to save up to FINALLY go to a pony convention next year after all this time, and eating pet healthcare costs sort of makes that trip harder to justify, so, y'know.)

I'm not even sure I have well-wishes to spare, because that kind of tinkering is beyond the pale. That said... yeah, if you don't consider your pet to be part of the family you're doing pets wrong. (Of course, I'm doing family wrong instead, but the point is to word it in a way that you'll immediately understand, because that's what language is for)
