Informal Challenge to those interested! · 9:20pm May 26th, 2019

Hey guys.

Recently I've been thinking a lot about a topic that, personally, interests me an awful lot, so I decided to make a sort of game about it. To organise the whole thing I made a group for it, but frankly it's more about people trying it out than being a part of a group or contest.

The idea is to 'simulate' what it'd be like to write an episode of the show, but in fanfic form; this means keeping the word count consistent with the duration of an episode (there was a TWG thread where we talked about the maths behind that; it's not to be taken too seriously but it's still pretty fun to think about in my opinion...), the content, consistency, and breaks for stuff like commercials.

I'm hoping to run a sort of write-off where people can try to do the challenge and then everyone reads everyone else's story and votes to see who wins. If we get more than, say, five competitors I'll even put in a prize of a steam game worth up to 30 quid.

Check the group out, I hope to be running this thing pretty soon. If you don't want to check out the write-off, at least take a look at the challenge requirements itself; after all, it strikes me as a pretty fun exercise to try out.

Cheerio folks!

No more than 8500 words

No less than 6500 words.

1 break at 400-600 words.

1 break at 2000-3000 words.

1 break at 4500-5500 words.

A full story arc with beginning, middle, and end, not a snapshot of an event with no real conclusion.

Rated E, consistent with the show's tone, rough continuity, and localisation.

No crossovers.

No whining.
