Always squidding around · 2:14pm Mar 31st, 2019

So I'm starting to find my strengths and weaknesses in ranked matches. I'm not surprised that my best offensive game is Splat Zones, I'm mildly surprised I'm good(I sh) at Tower Control, but the real surprise?

It's that I found my niche in Clam Blitz.

I'm a goalie. And a damn good one too.

I mean, I shut down two teams in a row, so that's a sign. Plus, I'd rather be the guy hanging back and splatting incoming squids than running all over creation hunting clams and being shot at.

Don't even ask about Rainmaker. Uhuuuuuuugu...

Thank you. I’ve seen players lose their marbles over Clam Blitz when they just needed to defend a bit XD

I believe the role for "goalie" is generally the anchor. The hant back and be a defender slash jump point. I play that with a splatling.

It amazes me how often I see nobody bothering to tend goal in Clam Blitz. You'd think it'd be obvious.

I know right. If we have a 25 to 35 lead in the last minute of the game, it makes perfect sense to be on defense.

...Especially against Octobrushes. *chuckles*

Have you gotten a chance to try out Salmon Run yet?

I did the introduction to it, but that was before I had clue one what I was doing.

I typically play goalie with a Hydra. Never thought of doing it with a Splattershot.

Up until yesterday I hadn't found a weapon that had the right fit for me enough to replace the Kensa Splattershot, because the only thing I hated about that gun were the Tenta Missiles, they leave you way too open. As of yesterday, I'm using Kensa Splat Dualies instead. Decent range and rate, good damage, still has the Suction Bombs I've come to love, and has the Baller special which I've come to fear.

One tactic with the Tentamissiles is to super jump back to the spawn point, then let them loose. It gives you a good vantage point, while keeping you safe. Aside from that, keep an eye on the HUD to see what opponents have been splatted. You don't want to activate it when there's no one to lock on to.

Good advice, thanks. I'll keep iti n mind if I ever switch back to Tenta Missiles. Right now I'm working on mastering the Baller.
