So, yesterday, out of the blue, I woke up to Wanderer D sending me a link to a blog post with no further commentary.
And, uh, yeah, The Teacher and The Hippogriff got reviewed and promoted by Seattle's Angels.
... Truth be told I am basically on cloud nine. I noticed TnG had really low views despite near universal appraise, but I figured it would be another one of my "did well enough for it's time" stories and I'd leave it at that. I am deeply, deeply flattered, and honored. I also really love the review itself. Cynewulf's thoughts in particular struck me as very observant and on the nose for exactly what I was going for with that story, and the fact that it spoke to her own time as a teacher is... really high praise for me. Being true to the experiences of people put in those situations without having been in them yourself is, to me, one of the highest compliments an author can get.
So, yeah, that was really cool. Also, several of the other stories up also looked pretty neat. Go give it a looksee.
Good stories deserve all the praise they can get.
Knowing that you wrote that story as a gift for me is now an even bigger honor than it already was. So glad to see you get more praise than I've already heaped onto you!
