Those who can't do, teach. And those who can't teach, make MLP audio books, apparently.

Need your Halloween/Xmas fic recommendations! · 1:19am Sep 10th, 2018

The Holidays are fast approaching, and since I the last time I crowdsourced fic recommendations it turned into one of my favorite readings of all time, I'm at it again!

Is there a particularly spoopy scary fic that you'd just love to see made into a Nightmare Night audio play? Are you aching to get your cockles warmed by a lovey-dovey Hearth's Warming audio book? Submit your recommendations below!

  • Shameless self-promotions encouraged!
  • I'm most interested in fics in the 3,000 to 10,000 word range
  • Nothing too cloppy :derpytongue2:
  • Preferably fics that don't already have audio productions (No Cupcakes/Rainbow Factory/Sweet Apple Massacre pls)

Hit me with your best shot!

I'd self-promote Fluttershy Goes to Hell, but it's so old, I'd probably be too embarrassed to hear it. XD

There's always Civil Twilight, while we're on the subject of me. :V

Seeing as how self-promotion is encouraged, and that you really liked "Dinkin' Donuts"... It was written for a secret Santa exchange, and for the same exchange a couple years later, I did another children's style story that I might like even better. Whether or not you end up producing a reading of it, you might still enjoy it on your own. "How Lily Longsocks Spent Hearth's Warming Eve on the Moon"

I recommended a few other Christmas stories last time you asked, and I can't think of any new ones I'd add to that list. For Halloween, "Practical Nightmares Only" was a very cute read. If you want actually scary/creepy stuff, you can't go wrong with just about anything by Horse Voice, though I don't know which of his stories already have readings. "Into the Other" is also rather good. "Lapidify: To See and Die" is really good, but a little over your word count range.

Here's a couple short stories appropriate for Nightmare Night that you might like; A simple ghost story called SKITTISH by JMac and a personal favorite Nosflutteratu by Charcoal Quill. Gotta love that flutterbat.
For those with a darker sense of hummer, there's Pranks a Lot by LordBrony2040.

But if you're looking for a month long project I'd suggest Seeing the Pattern by Aegis Shield.
:twilightsheepish: Though it might be a bit too long.

I'm one hundred percent self promoting with my story Baby it's Cold Outside. Not 100% Christmas story, but I published it on Christmas
