Schedule Will be Changed · 1:39am Aug 10th, 2018

A while back, I said that I wasn't up to maintaining the writing load of having a chapter out everyday except Sundays. That was two months ago and it seems like I'm just stubborn. :facehoof:

However, I'll soon be in a position where I cannot spit out chapters like that anymore—at least not without cutting considerably into real life. So, this Friday and Saturday will be the final days when I post chapters on an almost-daily basis. By August 13, I'll use the two-to-four chapters per week schedule mentioned before.

Sorry to bother you with that. Have a good day!

Know your own pace is paramount. As long as you update regularly while maintain your quality, it doesn't bother me at all. In my opinion, weekly update is better than most stories I've tracked so far.

Thank you for that.

Honestly, I'll miss the days of having to put up a chapter almost everyday. During that time, whoever was reading the fics was getting constant updates on how the story's progressing, almost like a soap opera. Now, the waiting time's increased, and, while quality is a good thing to have, I don't value quality as much as I should so long as I write something that'd advance the story.

I'm surprised you've kept it up this long. That said, I agree with Greenhorn in that pacing yourself is good. Don't want to burn out or start having to push yourself to get a chapter out while ignoring quality. Even dropping all the way down to chapters a week is totally fine with me, especially if it means they get a bit more polish.

Yeah. I'm not sure if you know, but, except for almost two weeks in total for real life commitments and the occasional missed day, I've been doing this almost-daily schedule since December of last year. It's going to take me some time to rediscover my groove in a not-so-daily pace—"rediscover" because that's what I did at first before I switched to my current schedule. :twilightsheepish:

I appreciate that you're concerned about me being fried as a writer, but, to risk going off-topic, a part of what drives me to do this after so long is a gripe over dead fics. True, real life takes over sometimes and all of us really can't control time to upload a chapter on time, but the sight of dead fics that had so much potential made me promise to myself that, when I start a story, I will end it no matter what. :ajsmug:

Call me impatient, but there's a reason why all the other fics I've downloaded from here are complete—which is hypocritical since I rather enjoy it when people stick with my fic for the long haul while making constructive and critical comments. :facehoof:

Wow, I had no idea you'd been doing it that long. I've only been following since you posted the first few chapters of Magical Curiosity.

I totally understand where you're coming from with the part about dead fics. There are so many fics that have interesting ideas but end up being abandoned. It's really disappointing to start reading a good fic and then get caught up on it only to find out that it hasn't been updated in ages and is pretty much dead. For me it's gotten to the point where I don't even read incomplete fics if they haven't been updated recently and the completion status is always the first thing I check now.

As for writing stories, I feel the same way but go about it differently. I don't want to even post a story unless I've finished it. As nice as it is to get feedback, I'd much rather avoid disappointing people if it turns out I'm not able to finish something. Though it looks like posting an incomplete story while having a strong motivation to finish it may also help to keep you constantly working on it.
